Finally caught Quantum of Solace. Why was it looked down upon so much? I thought it was great. Occasionally the story got a bit muddled, but I think there were some great sequences, some spectacular photography, and a style not previously seen in any Bond film.

I'm a lot better about reviewing music that movies, I guess, but I'll just end this by saying I liked it a whole hell of a lot. I guess I'm in the minority?

I love Quantum. I'll probably watch it for a third tonight actually. Been meaning to for a while.

I also rented Kung-Fu Panda for a bit of randomness, which I unfortunately avoided last year because well... Dreamworks animated movies are fucking terrible. But supposedly this one is pretty damn good.

Also, good on you YLB. Watch Nausicaa next. It's my favorite animated movie of all time. Then you can work thorugh the rest of his stuff really in any order you want. Princess Mononoke is an obvious step, what with being a classic and all, but they're all amazing. I'm a huge fan of Castle in the Sky as well.

Nausicaa is it then, even if one of them impaled Captain Picard at the Academy.

Hah, I just listened to two podcasters absolutely lay into Quantum today. Hollywood Saloon, I believe.

Hell, I enjoyed Quantum, too. Really plan on watching it back-to-back with Casino Royale for the full experience.

I absolutely agree. The reaction was pretty divisive, but I know Laz, Lance, and I were favorable of it upon release.

The opera sequence, opening foot chase, and hotel fight were incredible set pieces. Word is they're courting Danny Boyle to do the follow-up, which would be pretty nifty.

Hmm? I assume you're talking about something Disney-dub related.

Watch it with the Jap audio if you can.

Danny Boyle already shot that down.

Oh well, then get Pierre Morel.

Or Tommy Wiseau, who knows?

Well, it would have to be Schwartzman now. We all know what happened to Anderson's first choice, the actor he was grooming to be his Bond:

You mean a motive other than wanting to scratch a name off a door?
