T.I. would know all about 'mistakes'

Maybe they can be cell mates.

Chris Brown's Songs, TV Appearances Yanked From Air - News Story | Music, Celebrity, Artist News | MTV News

Chris Brown's Songs, TV Appearances Yanked From Air
In wake of alleged incident with Rihanna, at least one station has pulled Brown from playlist.

By Gil Kaufman

As the district attorney is seeking more information on the alleged incident between Chris Brown and girlfriend Rihanna that occurred on Sunday in Los Angeles, the fallout from the story continues to impact both singers' careers.

Brown, who was arrested and charged with making criminal threats after an alleged altercation that resulted in reported victim Rihanna sustaining serious injuries to her face, has already lost an endorsement deal with the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. The company, whose Doublemint Gum ads with Brown ran during the Grammys on Sunday night, suspended the campaign earlier this week.

On Tuesday, EW.com reported that "Sesame Street" said it was dropping all future re-broadcasts of Brown's August 13, 2007, appearance on the show. In the episode, Brown sang the song "See the Signs" and taught Elmo some dance moves.

And though it was unknown at press time if any other outlets were following suit, WAKS FM 96.5 in Cleveland announced that it yanked all Brown songs from its on-air playlist until further notice, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"After the alleged incident the phones exploded," WAKS nighttime DJ Java Joel said in a press release. "It's all that people wanted to talk about. They were outraged at this alleged behavior and wondered why we were continuing to support his music. I agreed and immediately pulled all Chris Brown songs from my show until this thing shakes out in the legal system."

Following Joel's comments, station program director Bo Matthews reportedly decided to pull Brown's music off the station entirely. "It appears that Chris has made some poor choices, we are following the lead of our listeners, and we will not be supporting Chris Brown on 96.5 Kiss FM in Cleveland until the alleged situation gets resolved," Matthews said.

Brown's campaign for the long running "Got Milk?" series was already scheduled to end this week, but the campaign released a statement saying it takes the allegations against the singer "very seriously." Brown has also bowed out of a number of events he was scheduled to attend at this weekend's NBA All-Star game in Phoenix.

Rihanna, who is doing "fine," according to her grandmother, has canceled her Thursday performance in Jakarta, Indonesia, People.com reported. On Tuesday the singer postponed a concert that was to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday. Promoter Pineapple Concerts says that the Malaysia show has been rescheduled for an as-yet-unannounced future date.

Spokespeople for both singers have not returned calls for comment."

Hope Brown thought all of this was worth it. Nice to see that he's starting to suffer from the repercussions of his stupidity.

i see where both of you are coming from. having studied children and families at-risk, including domestic violence, i'm keenly aware that there are a lot of complex issues at-play. indeed, there's no easy answer when it comes to addressing domestic violence, though (being a woman) i'm more inclined to understand and identify with public outrage and the call for strict punishment.

however we, as a society, address the perpetrator, it's just as important that we focus and allocate sufficient resources for its victims. better yet, community stakeholders need to be proactive in helping to ensure that children, especially young girls, build strong, unshakable self-esteem (and no, not through extrinsic, artificial praise!). really folks, it starts early.

Yes, yes, but what are your thoughts on the sustainability of fungus in hell?

i should've known. well, i usually only try to speak on matters i feel i'm relatively informed on or at least have experienced first-hand... but, intuitively, i sense that anything and everything is possible in hell.

It was an expression, and a fairly common one. I didn't mean it literally.

You have to admit that, if anyone deserves to go to hell, men who beat their wives should.

What, in your mind, makes a man who abuses his wife more deserving of hell than, say, a pedophile, a person who commits hate crimes, or a republican?
