Hey Laz, the Brooklyn Academy of Music is about to screen Rivette's Out 1 in all its 13 hours. Not sure I will be able to attend, but damn, this is wonderful stuff.

Yeah, this may sound blasphemous but I don't think it demands theatrical viewing. It was made to be on television, and Rivette only said it should be seen in the theatre after French TV rejected it.

There's no way I would sit through it in two marathon sessions myself. I did catch Spectre while I was in Paris a few years ago, and that makes much more sense to me.

More importantly, there's a Rivette set coming from the UK label Arrow that collects both versions of Out 1 as well as Duelle, Noroit, and Merry-Go-Round. That's what I'm really excited about.

Yeah, it's such a huge time commitment. They are splitting it in four sessions at BAM, but still. Good to know about the upcoming set - I might need to get that.

People Places Things starring Jemaine Clement is already on Netflix Streaming so I watched it tonight. It was slightly endearing but fell a little flat at times.

I just finished watching 50 Shades of Grey and all I can (or probably should) say is that the movie was 50 shades of boring and I really don't like to use that word, but there really isn't much going on. If you wanna watch something kinky, you'd be better off watching porn. The ending is usually better, and Hell, the acting is probably better.

Since everyone has been talking about it for roughly the last 2 years, I figured I'd check it out. It probably didn't do the book justice.

when I think of Robert Loggia, I think of this, now and forever more:

I just finished watching 50 Shades of Grey

I just watched it this weekend. And yes, I read the book. Mostly for the lulz (and there were SO MANY), but I like to see what the fuss is about, even for shitty pop culture.

I will say, in the movie's favor, they managed to make Anastasia less of a complete and utter drip than she was in the book.

So if, while watching the movie, you thought she was a complete and utter drip, you should have seen what she was like in the book.

Like, I love Sabatoge by the Beastie Boys, but really?

And Im not sure you should be proudly mentioning that the the director is from Fast and Furious...

Fast Five and Fast and Furious 6 are excellent movies, but if this is anything to go by, he seems like the wrong choice for this.
