ok, I sure got that wrong, Austrian film in French language with German director.

most people are referring to Amour as that French film, not the Austrian film

I really like Haneke's The White Ribbon, Cache' and The Piano Teacher

I have dealt with quite a few old people, Amour is just what happens, read a newspaper, old people go out in a bad way.

So they didn't like her as a host, but they like her as an actress.
 
Figures, I thought she'd win, but on the other hand, she's in so little of the film she was nominated for.

She's talented, I just still haven't got passed her being the Princess Diaries kid for some reason. Some day I'll come around.
