Leno:|

Letterman is wonderful.

His old show was the best. The only show that I went to was back in college.

At school, we would all stay up just to watch him. By the time 12:30 rolled around...we'd all be ripped. Good times.

Does anyone remember Chris Elliot as "The Guy Under the Stairs"?

Bill O'Reilly clashed with David Letterman during his appearance on The Late Show Friday night. Letterman took O'Reilly to task for his over-simplified views and "bonehead" remarks.

O'Reilly tried to reduce the Iraq war at one point, saying "Do you want the United States to win in Iraq? It's an easy question," to which Letterman replied, "It's not easy for me because I'm thoughtful."

As the Huffington Post reported earlier, Letterman also told O'Reilly, "You're putting words in my mouth, just the way you put artificial facts in your head."

 David

 Damn! Sorry I missed this!

I taped the O'Reilly show, it was a letdown-I was expecting more fireworks or something. I saw O'Reilly on Oprah too. I find him to be just dull and a caricature.

The best part was the photos of Harry Letterman :cute:

I haven't heard of this 'Harry Smith Project' :hmm:

I looked it up - it's apparently a 4 CD box set Anthology of American Folk Music. There's a DVD (probably highlights) being released in the U.S. tomorrow. The DVD info I have is:

The Harry Smith Project Live DVD compiles the best moments from Hal Willner's Harry Smith Project concerts in London, New York and Los Angeles, celebrating the eccentric collector and his influential Grammy®-winning box set, Anthology Of American Folk Music. Drawing on this rich legacy, these landmark shows brought together a remarkable roster of artists performing their own unique interpretations of these classic songs. From Nick Cave's cathartic take on spirituals, to Lou Reed's mesmerizing evocation of Blind Lemon Jefferson, these passionate reinterpretations (as well as performances by Elvis Costello, Beck, Sonic Youth, Steve Earle, Beth Orton and Richard Thompson, among others) connect the leading musicians of today with the greatest songs of America's past.
