I did not know Sara Ramirez, Calli was a Tony winner.
I am not a big fan of Calli, I really liked her in this episode. Her singing, the arrangements, were really good.
This show has had a few 'out of body' episodes before. This one was not as bad as some of the other stuff they have thrown at us.

Also the episode did good ratings

The good ratings were likely usual Grays fans and those curious about the special musical episode. I'd like to see results polling all those viewers to see what percent liked the format.

I had no idea about Sara's Tony. I'm not a big fan but admit she has a lovely voice.

I spoke to my sister about the episode and she agreed about how horribly wrong the musical idea was. She was afraid to say anything at work, as the people she works with apparently liked it.

Agreed that this musical thing was a flop. My wife and I just watched it on DVR last night. It struck me as self-indulgent on the part of the show. I'm sure THEY had a great time. Also gimmicks like this (and the documentary taping episode) are signs that a show is past it's prime.

This one episode is the shark jumper

what about the whole season (and a half) where Izzie saw dead people?
or when she was paralyzed by loss of confidence, then Yang borrowed her script and had the the same problem?
