painful to see Big Bang Theory and the word "outstanding" anywhere near one another

Fuck those bozos. No Tatiana Maslany. Big Bang Theory and Modern Family AGAIN. Oy. And Ugh.

Boooooooo.

McConaughey should win.

a strong arguement could and should be made for either him OR Woody Harrelson to win because they were both so good, along with the show True Detective.

However i suspect Breaking Bad will win everything it was nominated for. Say my name. You just don't go up against Walter White and win, even cancer got its ass kicked by Heisenberg.

I knew actor in a drama series was going to be stacked this year, but not THIS stacked.

If Cranston wins another Emmy award, are they basically saying he's the greatest dramatic television actor/character of all time? Dennis Franz is the only other actor to win four and he did it over the course of 12 years.

I don't know about the rest of these categories but I know Anna Gunn should be making space on the shelf.

Cranston is going to win his fourth for half a season of work.

And I'm totally alright with that.

Trying to think of any Jesse scenes in S5.2 that approached Tyrion at the trial but I'm drawing a blank. I've got love for Aaron Paul, but give it to THE DINK! if you ask me.

Aaron Paul was solid in 5b, 5a not so much. The writing really held him back. His zombie-like state was one of my least favorite parts of those episodes. Even with the improvement, Dinklage deserves it either way.

Agreed with U2DMfan that Anna Gunn likely has this in the bag.

Cranston is up against McConaughey, not a lock by any means.

Poor, poor Jon Hamm. The split season has truly screwed him over.

There should be a new group of categories for dramadies. OITNB, Shameless, Louie, Girls and more have little in common with sitcoms. Premium serialized dramas are fine to compete against networks.

Sad to see nothing for Hannibal, Review or Enlightened, when the usual suspects of BBT, Modern Family and coasting movie stars are practically seeds at this point.

But yay Treme!

Also Dean Norris > Aaron Paul in 5b. Not sure which episode to single out for Anna Gunn, she did great work throughout as her world was destroyed.

It should have been knocked out of contention for Brooklyn Nine Nine at the very least. It just won the Golden Globe!

I always say I don't care, but goddammit.

Ah, but this Emmy nom for The DINK! is for Season 3, I'm pretty sure.

On top of that, how is the episode for which Louis got a writing nod "So Did The Fat Lady" when "In The Woods" qualified?

As great as it was to hear the "Fat Lady" concluding monologue, the construction and character work on Into the Woods was a lot more impressive.and what's weird is that the guest actress from the former wasn't even nominated herself.

This, but "solid" don't cut it when it comes to awards.

Of course, I'll be rooting against Breaking Bad in all categories. Not that the stumbling-across-the-finish-line True Detective is worthier.

Strange that True Detective didn't go the American Horror Story route and call themselves a mini-series. They would've swept, had they. Now they're going up against the "final" season of Breaking Bad, instead.

An article on Grantland suggested that HBO is more interested in the appearance of dominance then actual awards. So getting True Detective into the Best Drama lineup at the expense of another popular show is more prestigious in their minds. Not to mention Harrelson and MMC both getting onto the Drama Actor list.
