I suppose there should be a thread since the usual two-night premiere is now two weeks way.

From what little I've read, the show will be set in New York, and has three returning cast members from last year, not including Kiefer: President Taylor, Renée Walker, and the incomparable Chloe.

I'll reserve judgment after giving it a few weeks, but I'm not at all excited as I once was about this show (probably because of my obsession with LOST). The premise, in my opinion, has been beaten to death, so unless they do something new, I'm not sure I'll watch the entire season.

:hyper:

I thought the last season was a slight return to form, so I'll be keeping watch on the torrent sites after each episode has aired. I don't know if the last season was ever shown in Dutchieland (or the delay was such that it escaped my attention).

And Renée Walker returns...

Apart from what they did to Tony, I loved Day 7. I just saw Kiefer play in a celebrity hockey game today, and that reminded me just how close the show is to coming back. Color me excited.

The thing is though, that the writers really should write the whole plotline prior to beginning production, every year the first half is killer, and the rest is filler and new ridiculous threats to kill time.

You'll never find more thrills on television than in the first 3 seasons of this show.

Thanks for the reminder Bomac - I must be out of the loop because I was unaware it started again so soon.

Agreed Powerhouse, liked Season 7 but did NOT that they made Tony a villian. I hope he returns and somehow that story is all cleared up but I doubt it.
What next - Chloe is a villainess this year, too?

I too hope they'll try to throw some new twists and ideas in this time, as some of the last few seasons has felt regurgitated. I'll watch and enjoy it all regardless.

Thanks!
(this means that when I get home on Tuesday night that I can catch it from the torrent sites :))

I'm not super excited for the new season, but I'll still be tuning in - probably out of habit, but hopefully it'll be a decent season. Hard to believe this show is already in it's 8th season.

They should have moved it to DC after Day 3, they finally got that point last year. The beauty of BASING it in DC is that it's within travel distance of several East Coast metropolitan areas like NYC, and has the political intrigue (and when the events always involve the president, its far more likely that the president would be in DC than all those times they were in LA).

I'm gonna watch the first episode or two.

Have not watched the show since Day 5 ended.

I just need shit blowing up and people being shot on a weekly basis in my life.

Anyone see Mary Lyn Rajskub (Chloe) on Conan last night? She was hilarious and it came out later in the interview that she does comedy on the side. Far cry from her Chloe character.

Tomorrow night! :hyper:

Yeah, she's actually a stand-up comedian, I'm pretty sure 24 was the first serious thing she did, of course Chloe is what the world knows her for.

Of course, I'm not offended!
