I hope Hugh finally gets his Emmy this year. He's deserved it every year. Then again, I love Jon Hamm, and he deserves the Emmy for last year's Mad Men finale alone. I haven't watched The Good Wife, but I feel like it took House's spot. I'm obviously biased though. True Blood and Mad Men are the only 2 shows I watch out of the nominees, but I feel MM is the superior show and deserves to win again. I hope January Jones, John Slattery, and Elisabeth Moss or Christina Hendricks win their categories too. I would be happy with either of them winning. They all were excellent last year. I think Bryan Batt should've been nominated in the supporting category too, . I'll miss him on Mad Men this season. Also, Glee should definitely win Best Comedy, although I'm sure most would disagree. All of the actors nominated deserve to win as well, except perhaps, Lea Michele. There are definitely stronger contenders in her category. It would be a crime if Jane Lynch didnt' win, though.

I'm not thrilled with True Blood being in there as a drama. It's so over the top and ... well, fun, for lack of a better word.

I would have much rather seen Friday Night Lights take its place there - that show is criminally underrated. At least Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler got well-deserved nominations.

Lea!

Also nice to see practically the entire cast of Modern Family with noms. It'd be great if Stonestreet takes home Supporting Actor in a Comedy. He's wonderful and the best thing about that show.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lost takes home Outstanding Drama, and a number of other awards. Sort of as recognition of the entire series, its impact, etc. It deserves it.

I agree on True Blood. I like it, but I don't really view it as a dramatic series. It borders on satire often. Then again, I've always felt the same way about Desperate Housewives, and it has always bothered me that it continually got nominated in the Comedy category when it's always had more dramatic moments to me.

I agree. It's more than a show, it's a cultural phenomenon, and it should be acknowledged for the entire body of work (although I know that's not what the Emmys are for, necessarily but they sometimes do that, anyway).

Both O'Quinn and Emerson are up for Best Supporting. That's a tough call, but O'Quinn figured so prominently into this season that I think it's gotta go to him. But damn, Emerson should get it too, just for his scene with Ilana, alone. Can it be a tie? I hope Matthew Fox wins, too. He was amazing this season.

Best Drama's going to be a tough category.

John Lithgow has to win Best Guest Actor for Dexter. He was stunning in that role.

Not much to quibble with there, except for Two and a Half Men. Why Emmys Why?

I have a feeling Comedy will be a battle royale between Glee and Modern Family. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top there.

I will be curious to see if Lost gets the nods in Drama over Mad Men. And while I love my True Blood dearly, I'm not sure it deserves best Drama.

Lastly, I LOVE that Conan gets a nod but not Leno. Ha Ha!

I will never understand the Two And A Half Men thing. I try to watch even a couple of minutes of it and I can't.

So, basically, if you're on any sort of TV show at all, you get a nomination?

Pretty much

I never understood why stars who make a guest appearance on a show are eligible to be nominated in the category of 'outstanding guest actor'. What about the other actors who appear on a show once (Like ER, Grey's Anatomy, etc.) and give an excellent performance. Why don't they ever get recognized.

\end rant

Weird to not see House in 'Best Drama'
Out of the dramas, I only watch Mad Men, so go Mad Men

Best Comedy... Glee, Modern Family or 30 Rock
Wonder if Betty White will win her category hands down. That was a great SNL episode

Thrilled to see Conan get nominated!!! And if you noticed, no Letterman or Leno.

Oy, how dare you try and make the Emmys worthwhile by throwing a 4-year old bone to Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, but continue to snub the best show on TV and continue to snub David Simon with Treme. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Also, they nominated the writing for FNL's 'the Son', but not Zach Gilford for pretty much the most extraordinary TV performance ever.

for The Special Relationship, You Don't Know Jack, 30 Rock.
