You Know the War is "Over" When...

...CNN takes down its "Breaking News" ticker and says "Major Conflict Over." Now I know that there is going to be continued military presence, but, for all intensive purposes, the war is over. The shift now will be like Afghanistan--a persistant, low-level police action.

So how many days was this war? Less than a month methinks. How long was Gulf War I and how many days was Gulf War II here?

If today is the end, it was about 25 or 26 days long. First Gulf War was about 44 days.

That's about what I remember. I remember getting home from someplace in 1991 and the President was giving a speech about the end of the war. A treaty had been signed I believe. I forget the particulars.
