I come to FYM because I mod it and I have to.
Just kidding.
I come to FYM because it's a fabulous source of information on history, politics, religion, social issues, and current events. I get to talk to a lot of insightful, intelligent people who believe things passionately and argue them persuasively. I come to FYM because I'm reminded that U2 fans are some of the smartest and most concerned music fans in the world (I would venture to say that very few bands have forums like this on their discussion boards--R.E.M. or Radiohead or Coldplay come to mind--and even if they do, their threads probably aren't as good!).

Because I like debates. I like expressing my opinion and hearing what other people's views are. And with those who I disagree with, it's nice to look at an issue from another view, and that can help me to understand why some people feel the way they do about something.

I come here because I love a good debate, I need to know other points of view to either question my own or re-instate why I think the way I do. I come here because there is a diverse a bunch of people you could ever meet in here and every single person has something valid to say and I love that.

My name is on that list! Whoop! Usually having my name on a list is a bad thing..but this time it seems good..so I hope.
I havent been here as much as I used to. I like debating. I found a few people in one of my classes that also have a (un)healthy obsession with it. It can be really fun sharing ideas. I find it is easiest to learn something when someone else is speaking passionately about them. We played a sorta game once where we picked a topic and chose the opposite side of what we really believed in and fought that side. I got to fight for the existance of a god. Good times

When I thought about the question ?Why I come to FYM? I wanted to say it is because of the thoughtful posts from the regular FYM posters.
I pasted the names from an active recent thread. Supreme Court Strikes Down Texas Sodomy Law
I expected most of the regulars posted in that thread.
I added some of the regulars that I could remember that were missing.
Because I knew I would no doubt leave some out I added the cryptic ?these people either pm me or block me, thank you ? header.
It should have read PM *ed* or block*ed* me. (I did check my PMs)

I think I come here because in "real life", I am surrounded by other conservatives. Since I am a consultant and work out of my house, I don't have much interaction with people other than friends and family, and we all pretty much think along the same lines politically. FYM gives good opportunity for debate, and I like that.
