MissVelvetDress_75:
lol, i thought about cuba too - but imagine guantanamo bay becoming US teritory
I guess this invasion has to be delayed until the trials there are done (approx. ?? years?)

Cuba's been on the list of countries the US wants to attack for decades now. The "war on terror" might finally offer the opportunity to do so.

I would imagine that Cuba is close to the top of a "hit list" of countries the U.S. would like to attack.

At this point, Cuba is only a problem to its own people. Between the US embargo and the general economic failure of communism, Cuba cannot sponsor a threat to the US anymore.

My guess is that the long-standing US policy on Cuba is: wait until Fidel dies

nbcrusader:

well being "only a problem to its own people" is no reason for G.W. for non invasion - they allready start to link cuba with terrorism (who cares if there was terrorism after a war anyway)

But i think it's simply inconvenient to move the people from guantanamo bay to afghanistan.
And turning g.bay into a US territory is no good idea, because on US teritory those imprisoned people whould have the chance to go to a US court and more americans would realize that there is torture in the name of the US
