24 Hour Coles have saved my life on more than one occasion.

You want Sunday trading. There isn't really a point to 9pm trading during the week though. Do you have one night a week that trades late? That's great but more than that isn't needed.

Read a great comment today about our two "leaders" - one looks like he is wearing a wig and the other looks like he has strangled a horse and stolen its teeth

trading hours?

in America this would be about our stock market

in America retailers are pretty much allowed to be open when ever they want

some cities have laws that affect hours that may impact adjacent residential areas

well, i find this a bit odd, only because I have not been exposed to it.

I will say this.

Australia has the best national voting system of any I have examined.

Amerce has one of the worst.

Thats interesting. So its an automatic right to open whatever time the stores choose?
Is it the same for pubs and clubs?

Australias a bit of a license happy country. Need a gun license, need a pub hours license, need a taxi license, etc. That way the license can be revoked for misbehaving.

I want to know how that makes sense. By 2am, anyone who wants to get drunk already is!

We have licenses like that too. Some clubs close at 4:00am.

I'm really not sure about the limits here as I couldn't care less about clubs, but I remember seeing in the news some clubs here wanted to stay open to 6am and then wanted licenses so they could trade 24 hours a day. I think the limit was 3am. But I wasn't exactly paying much attention, so I might be totally wrong.

Perth/Freo sounds like heaven. Or more like it used to be 20 years ago. All leagues clubs etc only need to stop trading between I think 7am and 8am for "cleaning" It's more so they can shove the passed out people into cabs and get ready for the day trade grannies who still feed dollars from cups into the pokies.
Though takeaway alcohol is stopped after midnight which is a massive pain in the arse if the esky or bath is emptied mid Saturday night pissup at someone's house.

Vote the no extended trade beli. I would. To pay weekend and Sunday rates is going to cost you, not the shop.

We have contained (?) gambling here. Only in the casino. We don't have pokies anywhere else and I like that way. I would seriously object if "they" tried to introduce pokies in pubs.

As for extended hours, when Im at work I leave at the crack of dawn and return late. Long commute. There are also no shops near my workplace so I cant nip out for a packet of nappies, panadol, etc at lunch time. I would appreciate the extended hours.

The Sunday trading Im not so fussed with. I have all day Saturday to get organised for Sunday.

Hmmm. Maybe I will vote for extended hours and against Sundays. (There 2 separate questions).

maybe, maybe

or maybe I will vote yes to both and let the shops decide if they want to open on Sundays?

Wow, that's wonderful. Not that I go out, but I hate how prolific pokies are here in Queensland.
