war time stress and spam

Well, the war hasn't stopped spam, but it's sure changed it. Today I got a spam advertising Valium, along with a similar tranquilizer, Ativan. Strangely enough the ad also advertised Viagra.

Are you suggesting spam has changed so it can sell downers to the public en masse?

Oh, I don't know. I don't think the FDA has changed the rules and these are controlled substances. I've been getting e-mails from other people who also report getting the Valium/Ativan ads. It is not coincidental that we're getting this stuff at a time of high stress. As an autistic I'm used to stress in my life, and I'm not worried about my ability to handle this stress. But maybe some people are.

A "good" marketing team might try and push such products to the forefront of people's minds in case they are looking for "relief" from the war.

Well it hasn't changed the amount of porn and debt consolidation spam that keeps pouring in. But then again that will probably increase given the present times. Everyone needs stress relief and help in this economy.

I'm still getting my share of porn, debt consolidation, etc, etc, even a spam telling me where to pick up an alleged paycheck. Huh? The spams for Valium and stuff like this are a part of "wartime spam".

I see it's not. I don't look at my spam cos it floods into a separate folder right away.

Seems like a pretty sick ad campagin

While it may not be war-specific, I do always like seeing the press release from Heineken during depressing times saying beer consumption increases during these times and you should therefore invest in their stock. I have to agree wit that though.

I hate spam, and I agree Lilly the Valium/Viagra ads are pretty sick. I'm deleting this BTW. If I want to calm down I'll drink some chamomile tea, thank you very much.
