After reading this thread... I figured this was more than appropriate.. Not to piss anyone off, or to offend anyone, but just to point it out that people are noticing the two different kinds of people out there.. I am a doctor.

It's almost as if we have two cultures in this country. One of the cultures in this country is very serious about the threat we face, and another part of the country is living in the world of Ozzy Osbourne. They are just totally oblivious and careless. They are not interested in preventing another terrorist attack that will dwarf 9-11 by killing hundreds of thousands of innocents.
These people have no awareness, it seems to me, of the seriousness of the threat that we face. They have nothing but scorn for the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc., even when they foil plots like Monday's "dirty nuke" story - the topic of our top stack item: Intelligence Community Deserves Thank You For Foiling Dirty Bomb Plot. I thank God that our defense is not dependent on these people. They're free to be ignorant, care-free and all that, but the more I see evidence of this, the more I'm thankful that there are a sizable number of people who are awake to the cold realities of life.
I am thankful that they open their eyes to the very real evil we face. At the same time, there is this desire that a few more of us would have some sense of the gravity of things here, because these disinterested people - running around oblivious to reality, are going to vote. I just hope and pray that we have as many informed people in the arena of ideas as possible. To that end, I cringe when I see all this happy hanging around.
Now, far be it for me to say that I'm going deny anybody's attempt to have fun, but this is a grave threat that not a whole lot of people have faced. This could be due (to some extent) to the president telling us to go on living our daily lives as we did prior to 9-11, but not all of it is that. Just look at how the Democrats in Congress are up to their usual games and divisive rhetoric on Social Security, capitalism, etc. This is a new world, but all too many people are in the old one. We can't keep going about business as usual, folks. It's deadly to do so.

I never wrote those words, so do not attribute them to me. Granted, those words are not necessarily offensive, but if you have a question, have the chutzpah to ask me directly. We all have fun at times switching words around when we quote people. But that is done in humor in a far less serious thread.
