After reading this thread... I figured this was more than appropriate.. Not to piss anyone off, or to offend anyone, but just to point it out that people are noticing the two different kinds of people out there.. I am a doctor.

EIB:

It's almost as if we have two cultures in this country. One of the cultures in this country is very serious about the threat we face, and another part of the country is living in the world of Ozzy Osbourne. They are just totally oblivious and careless. They are not interested in preventing another terrorist attack that will dwarf 9-11 by killing hundreds of thousands of innocents.

These people have no awareness, it seems to me, of the seriousness of the threat that we face. They have nothing but scorn for the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc., even when they foil plots like Monday's "dirty nuke" story - the topic of our top stack item: Intelligence Community Deserves Thank You For Foiling Dirty Bomb Plot. I thank God that our defense is not dependent on these people. They're free to be ignorant, care-free and all that, but the more I see evidence of this, the more I'm thankful that there are a sizable number of people who are awake to the cold realities of life.

I am thankful that they open their eyes to the very real evil we face. At the same time, there is this desire that a few more of us would have some sense of the gravity of things here, because these disinterested people - running around oblivious to reality, are going to vote. I just hope and pray that we have as many informed people in the arena of ideas as possible. To that end, I cringe when I see all this happy hanging around.

Now, far be it for me to say that I'm going deny anybody's attempt to have fun, but this is a grave threat that not a whole lot of people have faced. This could be due (to some extent) to the president telling us to go on living our daily lives as we did prior to 9-11, but not all of it is that. Just look at how the Democrats in Congress are up to their usual games and divisive rhetoric on Social Security, capitalism, etc. This is a new world, but all too many people are in the old one. We can't keep going about business as usual, folks. It's deadly to do so.

I stated my reasons for watching it.
Maybe you don't need this video to realize how barbaric these people are.

Bingo.
Most of us dont.
Maybe some do..oh well.

I also dont need to see EXACTLY how the Jews died during the Holocast in the gas chambers..either so that i can "try to understand" those barbaric subhuman monsters-i.e.-the Nazis.

Peace

PS -
I like what you said about Bono Dr Who though..

Diamond.. I'm not so sure Doctorwho is writing to you.. or for that matter anyone on this board.. There are many many people out there who just either are too caught up in 'feeling good about themselves' or are just ignorantly blind to what we are facing now.. (Reference the EIB Article above.. and Cannibalistic's Follow-Up) Hahah..

Oh Great.. Greg Norman is in the rough at the US Open.. Argh.. put it in the bunker.. but again, I digress..

Though you are right.. We shouldn't need to see this video to 'understand', but sadly.. and I'm not sure for who.. but there are a great many people who don't understand...

I agree with Diamond. I know enough, without witnessing first-hand, how barbaric anti-Semites can be in their delivery.

First, NEVER claim I wrote something when I did not! I never wrote those words, so do not attribute them to me. Granted, those words are not necessarily offensive, but if you have a question, have the chutzpah to ask me directly. We all have fun at times switching words around when we quote people. But that is done in humor in a far less serious thread.

As for your question, why should it matter? Can only a "real doctor" (whatever that is...) assess Pearl's tape appropriately? If so, then you are truly ignorant of this world. I will say this... I have had more education and training than most medical doctors. The work I do will be used by the medical community at some point.

Dr. Who-
Thank you for your contribution to the medical community and eventual humanity at large.

Please forgive CK's off beat brand of humor..bear in mind its not like he refered to you as a used-car salesman, or an attorney, chiopractor, or quack or something.
We love you here, John-

but that's the thing. lemonite takes what information he needs to prove his point, and "forgets" about everything else that may prove him wrong. everything has to turn into an attack on those who disagree in the slightest with him, and it just goes to show how immature people can be, especially those who try to show off their grown-upness (is that a word? lol) by flaunting their profession, good deeds, schooling, etc. like a peacock.

WTF.. Flaunting my profession... Hahaha.. I'm not even in a profession yet, and have never said where my direction in life is heading..

And I'm not so sure that people that 'flaunt' things are necessarily 'showing off', they are just giving background information to show that they have at least some sort of idea what they are talking about.

I find it a great contradiction that you point out me as being the only one who in your opinion 'takes what information he needs to prove his point and 'forgets' about everything else'.. What world are you living in?

And just for your information, as it has apparently slipped by you, I do not get into personal attacks.. For political disagreements Never.. I only try to correct the mistaken and misguided ideals that some people hold... I will jack up on such things as Smileys, 'Tee Hee Hee's', and your 'Location'.. Literally.... Let's not forget who once called me a 'Dumb Fuck', and let's also not forget that I never did retaliate with a Name Calling Incident.

I look at every piece of information, a lot of it that would quote un quote disprove myself, is wrong, so it is not applicable.

I can take the same tact against this post of yours and say that You're just bitter because you've not achieved any sort of respectable profession and went to some shit juco for education... (I'm not saying I hold those beliefs to be true.. It's just a devil's advocateness.. is that a word?)

as for flaunting professions, you're the one who keeps saying "i am a doctor" as if somehow, as doctor who said earlier, somehow means only doctors can assess this tape accurately.

i'm not contradicting myself. i didn't feel the need to bring other people into this, when i was only talking about you. i figure, if i'm saying joe blow is a dumbass because he's afraid of table salt, why should i say john doe is just as stupid because he is obsessed with it? i was only talking to/about you and didn't feel the need to bring anyone else up.

ummm...fine, let's not call them personal attacks. let's just say some people have to stoop so low in an argument that they have to bring personal, completely unrelated things into the argument.

i find it funny that you say everything that would prove you wrong is wrong, since most of this debate is just that, debate, and there is no right or wrong. for example, let's say the topic at hand was what should be built in the WTC spot. some say a memorial park should be built, others say we should recreate the towers. which one is right, and which one is wrong? i suppose it's whichever one you like.

and i'm bitter because i've never achieved a respectable profession? apprantely you don't know who you're arguing with. given my age, i think most people would argue that people my age aren't already in a profession. if we have a job, it's most likely to pay for bills and college. i'm in college to get a degree so i can achieve this "respectable" profession, although i'm sure you wouldn't view it that way.

Whoops.. Apparently you missed the joke.. There had been at least six posts referencing being a doctor in those little white boxes.. So.. I just put in 'I am a doctor'.. It's supposed to be funny.. because it's a random insertion.. Much as just throwing in a random 'agitprop'.. but now you have spoiled that because I've had to point it out.. Many other interferencers do the same things.. But I won't go into the Mitochondrial dendrites of Ivan Clayton Jr... hahaha..

About your 'eVerything that would prove you wrong is wrong' statement.. Go ReRead what I wrote and acknowledge your mistaken paraphrasing..

And as I wrote.. That last part about hypothetically being bitter.. I disclaimered that.. It was only a devil's advocate.. no one was accusing you of anything or denegrating you at all for anything, I was just turning the tables, That's all.. I wrote above, and I will write again here, for redundancy, I did not say those were my views, it was only to present the other opposing view of your argument.. for the sake of 'debate'.. Not as a personal journey into my mind.. But defend all you want to against hypothetical etherial devil's advocate positions.. That someone.. not necessarily me.. may have..

from today's New York Times. This is an editorial by Judea Pearl [Danny's father]. I pasted it in to make it easier for those of you who don't have an nytimes.com account.

"LOS ANGELES Two months before his abduction, my son, Daniel Pearl, wrote an e-mail message to us from Pakistan: "Hi! It looks pretty dicey from here at least your papers don't run front-page photos of the corpses of journalists." Six months later, an American weekly ran photos of Danny's murder and posted video of that gruesome scene on a Web site for millions of viewers to watch. As devastating as this experience has been for us, the issue goes beyond the anguish of one family displaying this murder undermines efforts to fight terrorism and anti-Semitism.

"Daniel Pearl was not a military hero or political leader, yet millions of people worldwide have identified with his life, mission and legacy. To these people, Danny is a symbol of strength and hope. Wherever he went, Danny radiated joy, truth, friendship and genuine respect for people of all backgrounds. He personified everything that is good in our culture and none of its faults. Even the harshest critics of the West, including leaders of Hamas and noted anti-American journalists, could not find any blemish in Danny's fairness and humanity.

"Thus, when they murdered Danny to humiliate the United States, the terrorists created the opposite effect they unveiled and magnified the humanity of America and made every American feel an inch taller. In fact, they made every decent person in the world feel an inch taller. And when millions of decent people take pride in their common humanity, they can organize against seeds of evil and they can prevail. The legacy of Daniel Pearl has become a galvanizing banner in this fight.

"The potential of using this banner to fight hatred and ignorance and to build new bridges has been embraced by many people and scores of organizations. The wide respect that Danny earned in his life, especially in the Middle East and South Asia, offers a unique opportunity to bring together and mobilize these communities. But to realize this opportunity fully, we need proud role models, like Danny in his life, not mutilated bodies in propaganda films.

"Less-than-civilized societies have used mutilation as an instrument to empower slayers and weaken their enemies. If we assist the revival of this ancient practice and allow it to infect our media and invade our Web sites, we will be inviting more abductions and more murders. Not less important, we will be helping the enemy destroy our role models and weaken our ability to rally people for the struggle. To preserve the dignity of our champions, we should remove all terrorist-produced murder scenes from our Web sites and agree to suppress such scenes in the future.

"Danny's spirit has not been defeated. In the last days of his captivity, he remained proud of his heritage and unshaken in his convictions, a man who lived by truth and compassion. Our children will be inspired by Danny's life, not his death."
