prettiest mess you've ever seen
Blood vainly pumps
Through young veins
Longing for retirement,
Flowing upward,
Toward my cluttered mind
Which successfully
Obstructs the surge of life
From Transcendence,
Here I sit with a pulse,
But am I alive?
What future have I
When now ceases to exist?
And like any natural response,
I attempt to poke holes
Through the small black box
That my lethargic body inhabits . . .

Please forgive me,
I am deeply apologetic
For the space
That my inferior flesh
Wastefully consumes--
I know not where else to go,
I am far too weary
To continue the exhausting search . . .

Perhaps you might find
An ounce of humanity in assisting me
Before that fatal stroke strikes--
Oh, but please,
Don't get up
And turn the television off
(Just for my sake),
I wouldn't want you
To have to miss
The 5:00 o'clock news
And wait again
'Til it replays at 6:00!

When I saw this I immediately without reading it went over to Dream Out Loud to see if it was there as well. Well it wasn't so I came back and read it.

It is a very good poem indeed Trip, I never comment on poems anymore, just read them and move on, but indeed something good.
