Saturday Greetings, U-2 Dem (just 9 hours 'til BONO on SNL):

Obviuously, millions were interested in Kerry's facial botox treatments, etc. or it would not have been reported in all media -- print, t.v. and web -- worldwide. Question answered.

Also, I initial-capped "Who", "Kerry", "Botox", "U" and "Democrat" for U (see above in quote line). After all, we do have a lot of visitors to these boards and we don't want to set a bad example of the English language (which includes spelling), especially to foreigners and students .

P.S. Besides BONO, let's see what "SNL" offers further in the still unfolding aftermath of the losing KERRY campaign. Watchout for "Weekend Update".

Picking? Don't be silly! I'm still gloating -- and relieved -- over the Prez results.

# 1 sign the election is over - Jenna and Barbara are once again stumbling out of bars, looking disheveled

I hope no one pounces on me for that lame attempt at humor

Oh and the United States did not invade Iraq alone and is not currently operating in Iraq alone. The United Kingdom and Australia both participated in the initial invasion and since then, 16 of the 26 member NATO alliance has been involved on the ground in Iraq. Troops from another 15 countries have been involved as well.
oh, yes, the "international" coalition. let's break that down ...

United States: 150,000
United Kingdom: 8,500
Italy: 3,000
South Korea: 2,800
Poland: 2,400
Ukraine: 1,600
Netherlands: 1,345
Romania: 700
Japan: 550
Denmark: 500
Bulgaria: 480
El Salvador: 380
Australia: 300
Hungary: 300
Mongolia: 173
Azerbaijan: 151
Georgia: 150
Latvia: 133
Portugal: 120
Slovakia: 105
Czech Republic: 90
Lithuania: 90
Albania: 71
Estonia: 45
Kingdom of Tonga: 44
Macedonia: 32
Kazakhstan: 27
Moldova: 12

it's a joke to think that the troop contributions from anyone other than the UK are remotely significant. and let's look at comparative casualties:

US -- 1221
UK -- 74
everyone else -- 72

it's not even close. and the current budget deficit, while you're right about a recession that began post-tech bubble in 2000, Bush's tax cuts, pornographic fam subsidies, and his pandering to the religious right, all of which i mentioned earlier.

here's what i think is really going on. all this new debt, along with a continued push for more tax cuts and more spending increases, points to a deliberate effort by the GOP to bankrupt our government. we also saw Reagan and Bush Sr. cut taxes for the rich and run huge deficits that added over $4 trillion dollars to the total federal debt.

essentially they want to "starve the beast", meaning they want to make it impossible for the government to spend on anything other than it's debt and the military. to take this a step further, the bankrupting of the government would force it to see off its real estate holdings (30% of all land in America), national treasures, and intangible assets for pennies on the dollar.

This thread, or any other thread for that matter, will not be a crash course in grammar or spelling.

If this thread continues in smelling like a bitch-fest, it will be closed down.

Interesting tidbit I picked up on www.gawker.com:

Quote:
Freemans, tuesday night the 16th of nov. the bush twins , along with 2 massive secret service men, tried to have dinner. they were told by the maitre'd that they were full and would be for the next 4 years. upon hearing, the entire restaurant cheered and did a round of shots... it was amazing!!! [Ed: We're hearing that this is actually true.]

Please stop calling people names. People are entitled to their views and their emotions are honest expressions of who they are. Don't spit on someone for being different, and don't encourage us to be a bunch of Jack Milquetoast hypocrites.
