Surprise, surprise it's not enough to be vegan, you have to care about what you (and your kids) eat (vitamins, minerals etc)

I wouldn't think that a vegan would breast feed.....does anyone else find that strange?

I'm sure that if these mothers had been taking the proper suppliments they would have been fine. Any pregnant mother should be sure that she is taking the correct nutritional suppliments to help the baby (i.e. folic acid).

All vegetarians are continuoulsly reminded (in medical studies/bu food associations, etc) to make sure that their diet is BALANCED. For example, if you're lactose intolerant you should take calcium, etc.
