but most centrist republican beliefs were effectively incorporated into the Democratic party by Clinton -- the Dems are now the party of smaller government, big business, and selective warfare (i.e., Bosnia).

yes, they could, but to be fair, it is a bit difficult when Republicans shamelessly weild the power of the incombancy and equate the election of a Democrat as being the first step towards another 9-11 attack.

and it was still a virtual dead heat.

and a bunch of churches in Ohio should loose their tax-exempt status.

I don't think any churches should have tax exempt status in the first place. :mad:

That's exactly what James Madison, 4th President and writer of the Constitution, advocated too. He hated the idea of giving religion tax-exempt statuses.
