But their native son, John Edwards, despite being the "little guy's" trial lawyer champion, has been careful to stay away from tobacco litigation. It's probably a wise decision in that state.

He might catch some flak for this from the media but I can't see it costing him any votes.

Where's the propaganda really coming from?

I just find it funny that out of all the issues brought up in the article you posted, you decided to make yet another tobacco thread.

I'm willing to discuss the other issues you have in mind.

I'm just not willing to say yes and submit to all propaganda
without a serious questioning.

For example:
Nicotine as additive as heroin.

That's a lie drug companies who sell nicorette (and other $top sm$king snake oil$) love to $ell. Smoking is a habit. It's easy to quit.

Second Hand Smoke Kills.

Then the Baby Boom generation should be dropping dead like flies since half their parents smoked and smoking was allowed everywhere.

The irony is that these Baby Boomers (those precious Flower Power freedom loving hippies) are the ones in now in charge passing all these restrictive bans on food, smoking....etc.

*another thread methinks.

Excuse me if I find irony in that.

It's not just nicotine, it's everything they put in cigarettes. And I've never heard it from a drug company. But I have heard it from addiction specialist and addicts themselves.

You honestly deny secondhand smoke is harmful?

"Excuse me if I find irony in that."

Why do you see irony is discussing and thinking (researching) about a certain subjects?

Thanks for the conversation so far BonoVoxSupastar.

I'm off for some sleep till the weekend.

Take care

The issues you speak of are very few and they tend to be the same ones over and over, almost propagandaish...

So I found some irony.

Are you seriously suggesting that second-hand smoke is not harmful? I may be at odds with BVS in another thread but I'll forge an alliance with him in this one if you really are alleging that. Hopeully you are just trying to stir things up. I really liked your Bob Dylan quote over the weekend as I am currently reading DYLAN'S VISIONS OF SIN by Crhistopher Ricks.

"Are you seriously suggesting that second-hand smoke is not harmful?"

U2Bama,

Yes.

I'm just saying the dangers are way overboard, being driven by the anti-smoking Police. If you will do a search, you will find what I say is correct. Please post whatever info you find.

Like I said before, if secondhand smoke kills, then the baby boomers should be dead by now.

I'm not trying to promote the use of tobacco with my comments, but I am tired and a bit concerned that our society is becoming more and more welcome to bowing down to whatever Big Brother decrees. *without thinking)

I'm just a foolish Libertarian.

I agree with Iron Horse to the extent that the dangers of passive smoking are probably exaggerated.

If the anti-smoking lobby were to be consistent they would also be lobbying against car emissions which probably kill far more than passive smoking.

But they though don't that of course - they only pick easy targets.
