What if the U.S. broke up? Maybe it's time. Maybe it's a good thing. Those who have a good way of life and want to keep it breaks off from the rest.

Maybe it's time for the U.S. of A. to break up.

I will be able to say that my country is Utah, lol.

Seriously, what do you think about that idea? Have you ever thought about it?

We didn't try very hard.

I seriously have though seriously about Utah seceding. We have the best scenery, we have great people and government. We even may have some oil (but we'd be smart enough and love our country of Utah enough to find alternative sources of energy, instead and alternative forms of travel). We are hard-working, creative, intelligent people. We have the latest and greatest break-throughs in medicine in OUR universities and hospitals.

We have it all. Utah seems to be a little oasis in the midst of all this and all Utahns feel it and I wonder if wonder day we just might be pushed far enough to secede. Seriously, if it's our choice, who has the right to stop us?

I would love my country to be Utah. Then, you know what? I think I'd be afraid of the good ole U.S. of A., too. There is some comfort in being PART of it rather than separate from it.:shifty:

But really, when has anyone in the U.S. ever considered Utah part of the U.S. anyway?

Statehood Is Central Issue in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Former Gov. Pedro Rossello sought to regain Puerto Rico's top office Tuesday with promises to fight to make the island the 51st U.S. state, but faced a tight race against a Washington veteran.

With 55 percent of ballots counted, elections officials reported Rossello had a narrow lead with 48.7 percent to 47.9 percent for Anibal Acevedo Vila, the territory's nonvoting delegate to the U.S. Congress, from the Popular Democratic Party.

Four years after stepping down as governor, Rossello pledged he would lead a clean government and hold another vote on statehood - an option narrowly defeated in nonbinding referendums in 1993 and 1998.

I have written it before

I believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.

the compassionate, tolerant who taught by example.

I have no need for a

doctrine

- A principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief, as by a religious, political, scientific, or philosophic group; dogma.
- A rule or principle of law, especially when established by precedent.
- A statement of official government policy, especially in foreign affairs and military strategy.

Sounds good to me. I'd much rather stick with the good way of life I share with the Jews, Muslims, gays, blacks, trannies, Asians [Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese etc.], Europeans, hipsters, artists [both traditional and New Age], flaming Broadway actors, straight Broadway actors [all five of them], people who don't shower, people who don't speak English, Puerto Ricans that make pizza, bar tenders, pirates [or guys who think they are pirates], hookers, porn stars, soap opera stars, regular stars, B-list has-been stars and the hundreds of subway musicians than live with you normal Americans. You're sooooo boring.

Oh, except Las Vegas. Now there is a city that knows how to stay awake on crack and uppers, just like us!

dear, I'm as Protestant as they come and the only anti-Christ I know of is called Apathy. Now, the Pope may be some things, but apathetic he is not.

Just what this world needs; more seperatism. Just take moden examples of people wanting to go their own way; ETA in Spain, IRA in the UK, mainly. I wouldn't want to wish further seperatism in any country, no matter how much I disagreed with the election result.

Ant.
