Some very moving, some disturbing, and others make me want to scream.

I found this entry really moving:

"I fear too many Americans think of soldiers without truly thinking of them as people -- they may be soldiers, but they are so much more. They are soldiers now, but may not always be -- they will become musicians, and teachers, and businessmen, and journalists, and car salesmen. The difference is, they are willing to die to protect those other Americans who are musicians, teachers, businessmen, journalists, and car salesmen before they go and join their ranks. "

I think often when debating this war we can say we support the troops but really forget not what they are doing, but who they are. I think both sides are guilty of this. One side sometimes looks at them almost like they are nameless robots fighting bravely for ideas, security, etc. They look at them as a whole and not individuals with statistics of failures and successes. While another side sometimes looks at them like unfortunate pawns of a game. Pointing out the actions of a few and then mourn for another.
