Ugh. I bet the leg will keep it from passing. I hope. I have no idea - thoughts?

Not sure, the legislature is Republican...one of the reps. from my area (who's a Republican) has already said that he would support reinstating...although, I'm not sure if Doyle would sign the bill...I'm hoping not.

Webb is losing by only 7000 margin. Even if this holds there will be a recount.

My cousin who lives in VA and goes to school in PA forgot to mail her absentee ballot (which would not surprise you if you knew her) so she took the train down to DC to get to VA and vote. Looks like it mattered.

hahahaha cnn is talking about how 10-15 min ago Rove told Bush the house was going to the dems and "the president was very disapointed in the results." oh to be "a fly on the wall" for that one. ahhahahhahaa

I'm not too confident about the senate either but we're going to have the house decisively. One thing that's really cool is New Hampshire - 1 was supposed to be safe for the repubs and 2 was a cointoss - but we've got 2 in the bag and 1 is very, very close.

Both House seats in NH went Democratic. Unbelievable.

If only one of the senators had been up for re-election this year...

can I just proudly share that my congressman won with 91% of the vote? And the other 9% went to...the Socialist Workers Party candidate.

YOUR COUSIN IS AWESOME!!!

I'm not sure if it's just the republican talking head making me nervous but MD's senate seat might go red. It's very close. with 48% reporting Steel is up 50-48. Times and cnn still have it for Cardin but Post has no check mark.

-oh, cnn has 57% of precincts and 50-48 for Cardin, hopefully the trend will keep going that way

I'm feeling goooooooooooooooooood for the Democratic Party tonight! :hyper:

Webb-Allen will most likely go into a recount. As of now they're 5,000 apart, and there are 30,000 absentee ballots from Fairfax County alone that have not been counted, and Fairfax is going heavily Webb.

We'll see...

6000 apart in VA with 98% reporting and those absentees uncounted.

Apparently lots of people in Missouri voted yes on stem cell research. So at least some of the ballot questions are going well.

yeah I've been out at a returns watching party w/a bunch of democrats and I worked the polls for Webb (in the cold rain thank you very much :D)

whether webb wins or not i'm feeling gooooooooooooooood :D

Yeah, it seems to me CNN called it for Cardin an hour or two ago.

On another note, I love James Carville

I couldn't find a single party here. :| Otherwise, I would've been doing the same

So what's the deal with absentee ballots, they only get counted after the initial count and probably only if they can make a difference in the outcome?

Correct. Anything less than .5% leads to an automatic recount.

I believe state law is that it has to be requested.
