One of the few Republicans I liked. He was further to the left than most Democrats...heh. He should have defected to the Democratic Party when he had a chance two years ago.

Still, I guess the silver lining is that the Democrats take yet another seat.

Deval Patrick won for governor of Massachusetts. :hyper:

  :dancing:

They don't have a crying icon but I did. I haven't been this happy about my state in a long time...OK since Deval's convention acceptance speech maybe.

I worked so hard for his campaign and it was so satisfying voting for him and now I get to see a democrat elected gov of my deep blue (but screwed up) state for the first time in my lifetime.

My state, New Hampshire, has historically leaned to the right. Yet as we speak, both House seats are in jeopardy of switching to the Democrats (in fact, one is a certainty, and the other is going down to the wire).

Add to that the fact that our incumbent Democratic governor is winning in a landslide.

Quite amazing.

Yeah I'm watching your house races. One wasn't even supposed to be in danger.

Indiana is the big shocker for me. A traditionally conservative state that just ousted all their incumbent Republican representatives for Democrats.

Wolf has the coolest name ever. I'm not watching CNN, I don't have cable. I'm watching NBC though. Obama might appear again somewhere else...keep searching!

I flipped over to Fox News for a moment. They all look like their dog died.

Haha no use. Want the rundown?

Channels 1-17 in German
Channel 18 mtv
19-24 german
25: CNN Int'l
26-31 german
32 bbc prime (tv shows not news)
33 tv guide

note that 20% of the german channels are probably playing porn at this time of night and another 20% are off the air. I'm lucky to have CNN Int'l but (whines) I want Obama!

(who I've seen speak live with Deval Patrick, governor-elect of MA!! wow it feels good to say that)

damn I'd love to see that too. In 2000, 2002, 2004 flipping to Fox meant watching them gloat. it would be sweet to see this.

Uh oh, John Kerry is talking in public again.

Actually what I saw of him on CNN was pretty good - a black kid from the south side of Chicago made it in MA, a smart political outsider who had a dream and is full of integrity and hope and good policy plans to boot! (don't believe his opponents' bullshit, check his website for papers...)

As for Martha Coackley, good woman - do you mean first female AG in MA or ever?

(and good ridance to Reilly - hopefully Martha's coffers aren't filled by big dig contracters like his were)

Pelosi is a truly awful speaker btw. Hillary's better but Bill really ought to give her some coaching.

I used to like him but he seriously needs to shut his trap. :madspit:

I never liked him and it will be interesting to see the senate race unfold in 2008 for his seat with all the reps scrambling for it. Even if he doesn't run for president (which was dumb before but obviously off the charts dumb now) he'll be attacked. maybe by timmy treasurer if none of the reps want to gamble with their seats.

AND YAY SESTAK!!!!! good bye Weldon. Another pickup, and in a district I care about.

Noting on some important state races in Wisconsin, these are both pretty early, but nonetheless...

Death penalty: so far Yes for reinstating :sigh:
"Gay Marriage" amendment: also Yes :sigh:
