Ahem. Actually, Paul Craig Roberts has a reputation as a bit of a maverick, these days.

I have nothing against the man and indeed have posted an article by him before on here (an article which, if I remember correctly, was described by one liberal-leaning poster as 'anti-American') but he must be regarded as someone well outside the mainstream, based on his recent writings.
