Well I wasn't picking on you specifically.
Much like legalization of gay marriage, you don't need to forcefully protect one way or another. Take a look at what's happened... DOMA (legislation prohibiting) fell. The floodgates opened for the people to fight it themselves at the state level. The people clearly won.

Now, that isn't to say the war is over/federal security shouldn't follow this up... but I'm just speaking in terms of the process itself. There are some strong libertarian elements that have led to this success.

I'll wrap my point up by saying I'm by some fundamentalist, constitutionalist, Ron Paul nutcase. Yes, I believe the government should be able to force your kid to get a vaccine. But there are very valuable elements to libertarianism that should more frequently be incorporated into the l course of action in which we make our decisions. From the ground up.

I think mine has changed. Back then I was mostly outraged so I was all for banning this company. But now I realise that that wouldn't have worked, it would've only enraged those against gay marriage. Yet now there was a public outrage, and people can see this company's true colours. Though it will not change things for those strongly opposed to gay marriage, it might have caused lost business with those in favour of.

Don't even get me started on anti vaccinations, lol. As a medicinal chemistry student currently majoring in vaccinations, this makes me weep for humanity. Whoever caused that dumb ass movement should be hung.

I agree. I think the libertarian party's problem is messaging. The people that speak for the party are so often filled with contradictions; it's a hardline platform and often that line is deemed too difficult for some, they want small government but they don't want the legalization of drugs, they want small government but they don't want to give gays equal rights. The party also due to it's platform attracts a lot of bigots and whackjobs.

The ability to attract more voters is definitely there, they just need to figure out how to truly message themselves.

How? Is there a thread I've accidentally missed where everyone starts speaking out in favour of the workers seizing the means of production?

Most Libertarians actually believe that all drugs should be legalized and legalize gay marriage. What you're describing is the tea party. Libertarians and Tea Party whackos are not the same thing.

No, I'm talking about people who self describe themselves as Libertarians. In fact there is a very outspoken "Libertarian" in here that is adamantly opposed to the legalization of even pot.

Well, then I believe that they fail to understand what Libertarianism actually believes in. We really try to disassociate ourselves from these tea party nutjob who have already screwed over the republicans and now try to associate themselves with Libertarianism. The only view that I hold that the pure Libs disagree with is abortion. Everything else (drugs, gay marriage, etc.) I may not agree with, but we are not meant to be a religiously run nation. Just because I disagree doesn't mean that every citizen should live by my law. We're governed by people who are unwilling to compromise because they refuse to give up any kind of thing they disagree with and it causes nothing to get done.

Today I learned from my co-worker the difference between a total bottom, a power bottom, and a versatile bottom

They'll learn it when they're older, and, God willing, there'll be a few more power bottoms in this universe

It takes a real man to be a power bottom.

U.S. Supreme Court swamped with same-sex marriage briefs

THis has been all over my FB from HRC, but this is the quickest one I could find.

The reason I'm posting it is because same-sex marriage has been called a lot of things by the Right, but apparently it's the single thing they can't call a job killer. :snicker:

If being gay has a genetic cause, and the current science seems to say that it is, what would gay people do if they isolated the gene and scientists could reverse it\turn it into a heterosexual gene?

I've heard it argued in here by some that they would never chose to be gay. Well, if offered the choice to NOT be gay, would you take it?
