Because these people were all based as "potential terrorists" noone took them serious and noone imagined that the "brave and honourably army" could do something wrong.

IDF is made up of regular people from all walks of life, you have troublemakers but if there was to be a systematic pattern of abuse then it would be revealed - that stuff is journalistic dynamite (think of the Jenin "Massacre" for instance - a crime against humanity that never even happened as a later UN investigation admitted).
The Checkpoints are not the most desirable situation but the soldiers manning them dont want any trouble, they do the job and they generally do it well - as many a journalist can attest to - because if they were to just start constantly beating people up at random then it would become unmanagable.

well this is off topic a wee bit but how come our fearless leader of a president doesn't offer to help with the terror situation there? Or how about sending troops to Northern Ireland to wipe out the IRA...How about to Russia to get the guys that attacked that school....

War on Terrorism = Vague political correct politibabble to define your foreign policy without adequately defining your enemy - only a means of warfare from which they use.
A more apt title would be a War on Islamism, where your target Islamism is very well defined, the IRA/ETA/FARC type nationalist terror groups are nothing compared to the Islamist terrorists. The former are motivated by tangiable political objectives, they use violence but their modus operandi is nothing compared to that of an Islamist terrorist group. The Islamists are motivated purely by ideology - they consider us all worthy of death simply because we are all infidels and infidels must be purged from the earth if Islam is to reign supreme. I am not saying that they represent most muslims, they are surely a vast minority of the 1.2 Billion Moslems on earth but I am saying they are a danger and their motivations can be found in religious fanatacism that is apocalyptic in nature.
Totalitarian Islam is the single greatest threat to individuality in the world today. You have an enemy that is motivated by an ideology that places no value on their own life and will rape and murder innocent children because the kids are considered legitimate targets. They have killed innocents the world over and it doesn't matter if they are Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu or Atheist - if you stand in their way then you must die. This War on Islamism must be won. It is won by removing the support the Islamist groups recieve and initiating a paradigm shift in the Moslem world.

Why not help Ireland and Israel on the war on terror? No oil. Why not help Russia? The oil is in Chetnya. And Afghanistan? Welll....they have poppy fields but selling heroin is not a legal industry in the US so we'll have Pakistan take care of bin Laden for us. Ya know, that country that has nuclear weapons but we'll ignore that one little thing.
