Well for one, the Dixie Chicks waited to bash the President in a foreign country, while The Nuge at least had the guts to do so in there own back yard.

what possible difference does that make? they were on tour in Europe when Bush decided to commit the greatest foreign policy mistake since Vietnam, and thus they said something. i don't understand people who freak out if an American abroad does something other than walk around and shout "America ... FUCK YEAH!" in the faces of Europeans or whomever.

That's a great system too - but you do run the chance of picking a candidate NOT endorsed by The Nuge. Next thing you know: free healthcare. No guns. Terrorists everywhere dancing with dirty hippy liberals and socialists. It'd be insanity, man. We'd start adding "u" to our words (wourds?). Drinking tea. Saying "eh" all the time. Can't take that risk. I can't root for the Leafs - they have Darcy Tucker! Ugh. No, I'll wait for The Nuge to guide me.

Yeah, Ted Nugent could disagree with those women without telling them to suck on his machine gun and calling them bitches and whores. He loses all credibility, if he ever had any to start out with. I don't care what kind of little show he's attempting to put on, it's still revolting and most men of decency don't speak about women in that way. Maybe he has some sort of problem with women in power, other than Dr. Rice I suppose.

It is shock value that's been done before by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop and Marilyn Manson to name a few. In the youtube world we live in, it is now possible for people who really could care less about his music/antics to see what he has been doing for years. Ted has a niche audience that is pro-gun, pro-America, and pro-barbecue. He rocks.

If this person Nugent (who I had never heard of before this thread) was a Muslim who had made threats against US politicians he would already be in custody, and if he was a leftwinger who had made threats against Republican politicians, then, at the very least, he would have been paid a visit by Homeland Security.

Nugent is either a terrorist himself or an advocate of terror - there is absolutely no moral difference between what Nugent has said and what Bin Laden is supposed to have said in various speeches threatening Americans, whereas on the other hand, there is an enormous difference between what the Dixie Chicks said and what Nugent said.

People who support Nugent and defend his comments are at the very least, apologists for terrorism, and people with a very skewed and very questionable moral compass.

People who water down his comments are, similarly, apologists for terror and quasi-fascists.

It's as simple as that.
