Exactly. Instead of just flat out banning abortion, fix the problems that lead to abortions happening. That will solve things.

That's funny, this is the same guy who wrote the article I posted a few pages back. I posted the article he refers to in this one, and you've posted the update. So now we have the whole picture. Thanks!

Rehnquist Stepping Down Friday

I just received a note from a friendly source suggesting that Rehnquist will announce his retirement tomorrow. Last Friday morning, this same person told me that O'Connor would step down (3-4 hours before it hit the AP wire).

Is the Supreme Court setting a new trend for Friday retirement announcements? Why is this the type of news that the Court, the administration... anyone for that matter would want to bury in Friday news?

Two justices stepping down on consecutive Fridays suggests a coordinated plan of retirements. Is the plan just a private agreement among justices? Or would the administration be involved? Why not just announce on the same day last week?

I'll update this post if I hear any new news.

UPDATE: It looks like Robert Novak may be listening to the same ears that I am... This revelation gives me a sinking-dirty-yucky feeling inside.

Someone wake me when it's over.

Everything we've learned will be wrong.
