Many of God's best angels are hell raisers - for the right things in this life.

Steve, at least for the future of this world's environment, may very well have been one of them.

I woke up on a holiday only for my mom to tell me this.

I am a huge Steve Irwin fan and right now I feel shattered. I don't care what anyone says about the way he talked or acted funny, no one can deny his impact on conservationism and how loyal he was as a friend, son, husband, and father. Steve Irwin taught me everything I needed to know about reptiles and is a large part of the reason I want to go to vet school.

I feel just awful about this. Steve Irwin had such a passion and genuine love for animals, and it was infectious. He will be greatly missed.

Irwin did dangerous things with unpredictable animals, and he did it with great enthusiasm and flair. That he might die in an encounter with an animal surely crossed the minds of all who knew him, tragic as the reality is.

I think everyone feels so sad too is that he was a favorite to many kids all over the world.

The world just lost someone very special.

I was really sorry to hear the news, he was way too young to die.

A sad loss. I used to watch him on TV when i was a kid and i was mesmurised as to how he used to have some sort of telepathic bond with those animals.

A great man.

i'll be raising a glass to Steve tonight
