Why dont the Fed's go after the company's that produce steroids. How can you be a real athlete if you have to juice up to be a good player. There is no more talent out there unless your juiced up.

The banned substances mean they are banned from healthy competitors, not from the medical community.

Here, an athlete misused a valid substance. They knew the risks (it was on the banned substance list) but took it anyways.

Perhaps the law should target coaches or trainers who supply the substances to under-aged professional athletes.

The next big thing will be applying technologies being pioneered for theraputic means such as gene therapies and modification to athletes (theres big money), I think that could be a good thing.

Not all steroids are illegal in competition. Irina Slutskaya, the Russian figure skater, takes some for an illness she has, and it's legal according to the International Skating Union and the International Olympic Committee. She is the gold medal favorite for Torino and should she win gold, she'll be able to keep her medal. It's a shame about this tennis player, but hell, they knew the rules and didn't follow them.

Why, because it would be fruitless. Steroids are legal for many. It's just like any drug, it can be abused.

To go after the manufacturer would be pointless.

His use may be a more appropriate use of steroids, since it was only for body image and not a athletic advantage.
