I read an article on ape-men and the feesibility of it. The technology simply wasn't there at the time but I think that if we applied ourselves today we could create a hybrid chimpanzee-human creature, from a strictly amoral position I think such a project could reveal a lot about what makes us human.

No, I think that any such project would be a gross violation of individual rights and ethics, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't yield some interesting information. Just like how the superpowers used information from Axis concentration camps and germ warfare units after the war and used that information. We dont have quite as much trouble with tigons do we?
