something for you dimwits to consider

talking to one of my most respectable friends the other day, he said something that really made a lot of sense.

i'm gonna share it with you. while these weren't his exact words, the sentiment is the same.

"the people on the right, and the people on the left really aren't that different at all. we're all pretty much the same when you don't talk about politics."

and

"these groups are often equally ridiculous. one side thinks bush is here to save them from their sins, while the other insists he's the devil. i think it's quite obvious that the truth must lie somewhere in between."

so often people take sides on debates simply to stand in the "right" or the "left". is it too much to ask for people to be issue-based in their opinions?

that's all. carrion.

Save us from our sins? get real... I know you're just trying to make a point but I don't see a speck of truth to that statement.

On the other hand, to others, he's not the devil, just a mere fascist.

I reject the premise that the truth is always found in the middle. That's a cop out.

The law of averages does not apply to truth.

this is very correct

the issues should stand on their own

i do think many choose a side
and then just accept all the arguments

without doing any investigations on the individual issues.

oh maannn...

you're insufferable aren't you? you completely missed the point, and part of me wonders if you even tried to get it in the first place.

forgive me for at least assuming the lot of you could comprehend something so simple.

I like the thread title because it doesn't apply to me.

humour comes as second nature to you doesn't it? or at least observing it's place in conversation anyway.

unreal.

perhaps the joke's on me though. maybe you're only kidding? in fact, surely you must be. you can't be serious.

if you're an elitist you must be a blue-stater...
ok, well Buddha did say that truth could be found in the middle-path...radicals on both sides are generally shady when it comes to truth. it certainly is important to realize the truth does exist somewhere in between - of course it still might be closer to one side or the other....i'm sorry if this didn't make sense...i'm tired from philosophical papers
