That wasn't necessary. My feelings aren't just hurt, they've been punched in the face and shot six times in the crotch.

I'm a Republican voter and i'm not even Christian, let alone radical Christian. I doubt most Republican voters are like that.

Well, then isn't it time for the real Republicans to start taking back their party?

eta: It's easy for me to make the statement I made when I see the Republicans falling all over each other to see who is more Christian that the other.

That is exactly what we are trying to do through Ron Paul. We've raised $3,000,000 this week and almost $15,000,000 for the quarter so far. Trying the best we can.

Here is a Ron Paul quote about religion and particularly to the recent attacks on Mitt Romney for his religion:

“Our nation was founded to be a place where religion is freely practiced and differences are tolerated and respected. I come to my faith through Jesus Christ and have accepted him as my personal savior. At the same time, I have worked tirelessly to defend and restore individual rights and religious freedom for all Americans.

The recent attacks and insinuations, both direct and subtle, that Gov. Romney may be less fit to serve as president of our United States because of his faith fly in the face of everything America stands for. Gov. Romney should be judged fairly, on his record and his character, not on the church he attends.”

UPDATE: We've just hit $15,000,000 and crossed it by a couple hundred thousand.

Why should a Republican candidate even have to mention Jesus?! I think you may have just proved my point.

I completely agree with Huckabee's assessment of Bush's foreign policy being arrogant. What the heck would most people call it, humble? Don't know exactly what he means by "bunker". I applaud him for being a Republican who has the courage to speak out like that, even though I disagree with many of his other views and comments.

I wonder where Mitt's depth is in dealing with other nations. The Olympics?

Brilliant little quote there. Definitely like the man, and glad I voted for him in the Interference primary.

You pulled out one line from his quote and used it against him while not mentioning the context in which it was said in. That is very misinformative to a person who did not read the Congressman's original quote. Let me explain to you what he was trying to say.

In that quote, Ron Paul is basically saying that Mitt Romney's faith shouldn't even be a topic or be questioned and that he should be judged based on his actions as a politician, not based on his faith. He also said that even though he himself believes in Jesus, he's worked very hard in letting people have their own religious freedom becasue that is what this country was founded on. So he is not a radical Christian and he certainly does not enforce his beliefs on the nation.

So no, I don't think I proved your point that all Republican voters are radical Christians.

$18,000,000+ raised this quarter. Sure to hit $20 million before the end of the quarter.

Let the Revolution begin.

I understood the message. But why are the Republicans always making sure everyone knows how Christian they are?

Could he have talked about religious freedom without reassuring everyone that he was a Christian? Or would that cost him votes?

He's going to be on Larry King tonight. Not that Larry will actually come up with any good questions...

He was merely saying that even though he is a Christian he wants to make sure that all people are given freedom.

I understand that many Republicans use their Christian faith in a way to get votes but that certainly isn't Ron Paul. I can't find the link but there is a video interview regarding the Mitt Romney Mormon situation on RonPaul2008.com in which Ron Paul says that it is inappropriate to talk or ask questions about faith in debates because that should not be an issue no matter what.

Also, he strongly believes in personal liberties. He believes that homosexuals should be given all the rights of heterosexuals. He was asked about gays in the military in one of the debates and his answer was something like this (not a direct quote):

"If people were having homosexual relations in the military and the policy is that those actions are intolerable, then the same policy should be used for people having heterosexual relations in the military. Everyones individual liberties should be equal."

Now everyone knows that a majority of Christian Republicans are against gay marriage or gays serving in the military. However Ron Paul is not like that. So I don't think he trying to attract the Christian vote. I think he just says what he believes is right.
