One who claims to be skeptic of one set of beliefs
is actually a true believer in another set of beliefs.

~Phillip Johnson

1. Origin: Where did we come from?
2. Identity: Who are we?
3. Meaning: Why are we here?
4. Morality: How should we live?
5. Destiny: Where are we going?

The answer to each of these questions depends on the existence of God.If God exists, then there's ultimate meaning and purpose to life. If there's a real purpose to your life, then there's a real right and wrong way to live it. Choices you make not not only affect you here but will affect you in eternity.

On the other hand, if there is no God, then your life is ultimately means nothing. Since there is no enduring purpose to life, there's no right or wrong way to live it. And it doesn't matter how you live or what you believe-youir destiny is dust.

So which world religion, if any, answers the God question correctly?

well, religion certainly has us over a barrel, doesn't it?

believe in God, and you have meaning.

don't believe in God, and it's just a swirling void.

it couldn't be that human beings make their own meaning, that we are responsible to one another, and the "right" way to live is always contested, always in dialogue with competing ideas, but as such is a living, breathing, powerful thing precisely becomes it is created by humans for humans and that with the killing of God comes great fear of nothingness but also temendous empowerment and responsibility because you alone are responsible for yourself, and for your neighbor, and so it behooves you to become the positive agent of the change you wish to see in the world?

nah, couldn't be that.

God's a parent, and we are naughty children.
