i don't take the subway so i don't know how accurate that info was... i heard 1/3 through a friend... nevertheless... would you wear a mask antiram... maybe i have to know someone who came down with sars before i do... i at least have to know the severity of his/her illness.

there's a couple in at my u of t classes downtown that have them on as well.

all i know is that this could seriously worsen our current recession... Damn, from a bad winter, to the war, to a 2 year recession... and now sars... Our economy is going to seriously take even more of a hit with people cutting back on going to the mall, the movies, and restaurants... Travellors are going to think twice before visiting toronto... That's going to hurt the hotels, the taxis, restaurants, theaters, parks, etc...

what a mess

No, I wouldn't wear a mask.

I am actually graduating from UofT with a specialist degree in Immunology, so I have had my professors quarantined, lectures cancelled, labs cancelled because we weren't allowed to use blood products anymore.

The media has blown this out of proportion. Was it monday that we had a huge headline about another fatality? Well, you know who died? A 99 year old man! Come on, there has to be more information about who is actually most affected and what the state of their immune system is.

and today a 78 year old woman died with sars like symptoms combined with another illness...

i'm not really worried about myself, i'm more worried about catching it and spreading it to my parents or my nephew who is 1.

i would however like to hear more of the ex-sars patients speak out on what having sars is like... how come the media hasn't done any such reporting.

That's what I'm worried about the most too....not so much catching it myself, but rather, spreading it to my grandparents--who are already in poor health, or my newborn cousin.

I've literally seen people thrown out of restaurants because they coughed....
