Cool to hear that about Mexico's stance-I did not know this . Whatever helps us catch up to other areas is fine by me, I say. That'd be so wonderful if we finally made it legal nationwide.

This is good news, but its also sad because it just shows how behind the USA is in the world. We're supposed to be the Land of the Free and a beacon of democracy, yet other nations are passing us up in SSM.

Then again, we had African-Americans as second class citizens until nearly 50 years, so we didn't always live up to our reputation.

I see what they did.

Well, we had democracy much sooner than the Russian people, yes? Sure, only white men had it first, but it's better than what you had. ;-)

The Russian people don't have democracy and haven't, I'm not sure why you think they have it now? Interested to know why you even mentioned the Russian people here. And what is your definition of democracy, the choice between two parties that have little difference between them?

Aren't you Russian? I believe you mentioned that once.

You asked when did my country ever live up to it's reputation as a beacon of democracy, and I answered. I'm fully aware that Russia has never had any democracy. Tsarist Russia, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation are what I enjoy reading about.

Also, I would much rather live in a country with only two parties to choose from than not be able to speak out against my President.

I'm Belarusian ethnically, but that doesn't matter. With your concluding sentence, I wouldn't prefer either of those systems, as I support a system stateless and classless in nature.

Enough of the OT for now I think.

I'm so sorry I wasn't in town to go down to City Hall and cheer on the newlyweds. Apparently the crowd grew throughout the day, and everyone would cheer as a new couple came out. So wonderful.

I literally was just going to post in here with a question for you, Alicia.

I was just concerned for your safety, given the calamitous events that have surely befallen your fine state the last 24 hours. What plague are you on? Fires? Locusts?

How many people were lined up to marry their goats?

How many were lined up to marry their brothers?

Surely Fox News has these stats somewhere, right?

Well, yesterday I was on a plane on the tarmac in Minneapolis for six hours. Surely that was retaliation for their SSM vote.
