Don't know about the UK, but it's illegal here in the US.

Well it depends on length, and it if locks.

And if it's a switchblade.

will stones, sticks, pencils and pens will be next?

inanimate objects do not commit crimes,

hearts filled with evil do

That is completely idiotic. Do you suggest a suitable method of policing be to remove the evil hearts of those who commit crimes, instead? I am not taking you literally here, but this constant view that the gun or knife is not the problem when summarising the issue, is beyond fucking ludicrous.

When will you guys in the US realise your country is so fucked because you have an uptight element in your community who have FREE ACCESS to carry dangerous weapons and therefore use them to harm????????

It's not nuclear science!

:tsk:

"Carrying an offensive weapon in a public place "without lawful authority or reasonable excuse" carries a sentence of up to six months' imprisonment.

During a similar amnesty in 1995, 40,000 potentially lethal weapons were handed in."

Why is this considered stupid?? Resources are limited and no one wants to have the police doing random searches. This is a cost-effective way to publicise the problem and to get people to think about why they actually carry a knife. I think this is a good idea.

I think that this is a good idea. I once knew someone who got stabbed to death. It was gut-wrenching. Keep knives out of the hands of criminals!:madspit: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:
