Prince Harry Wears Swastika To Party

How on Earth could he think that was acceptable? I just don't understand some people, especially high profile people like him who are well aware of the attention they get for their actions.

At least it was a fancy dress party, at first I thought it was a 'normal' party, that would have been even more strange.

It was a dumb thing to do, but I really don't think he meant to be offensive. I knew guys in school who would wear them and do the hile Hitler signal as a joke, like making fun of Hitler, mostly caused by the Monty Python Hitler living in disguise in the boarding house skit, also old Hogan's Heroeos reruns. I'm not taking up for him and I know it's no excuse, but I bet that he was being ironic and meant it as a joke (against Hitler) and never meant to hurt anyone. Of course, as sensitive as this is you really can't do that.

He didn't just 'wear a Swastika to a party' He dressed up as a German Nazi to a fancy dress party. Nothing wrong with that if it were you or I, but it does look like an error of judgement on his behalf.

I think this shows really bad judgment because of his position. I mean, heck, the Queen has to have all of her speeches screened by the government to make sure there's no politics in them. If you're royalty, you're not supposed to be political. If Harry needs help in the costume department he can call me.

A stupid gesture from a stupid kid from a stupid family from a stupid aristrocracy from a stupid ideology that believes they're still needed.

And we, the tax-payers, are still subsidising this stupidity.

Ant.

Knowing how incredibly painful that is to such a huge group of people, I don't know how anyone could ever do that, no matter what the intent was behind it. I don't see how there could be such an utter lack of sensitivity on his part.

He wasn't playing a Nazi in a TV show, play, or whatever, obviously.
