I've always been a big fan of...

When Clinton lied, no one died

Do you actually consider that website a legitimate source of information?

I could give you other websites saying the same information. Point is that stuff happened, those people died, and it seems kind of weird.

Yeah, I've seen the chain emails too. Most of which has been cleared up by sources that actually do fact checking.

But I'm sure you have satellite images of all this as well.

If Bush lied and people died then the same is true of Bill Clinton and sanctions + Operation Desert Fox.

I have now and it's just crazy talk, but the consistency between Clinton and Bush about WMD shouldn't be flushed down the memory hole.

^I was hoping to stay away from those types of discussions...

Back on point... this is a good one:

In America, anyone can be president. That's one of the risks you take.

So true...

And I always thought a U2-flavored bumpersticker would be awesome:

"Don't become a monster in order to defeat a monster"

I was taking a break, but this one was too good not to post:

(picture of Jesus) Conservatives hated liberals 2000 years ago too.

*sigh*

again, people assume Jesus was a liberal...

How was he not?

A number of ways:

He supported marriage being between a man and a woman.

He obviously valued the sanctity of life, and so I would bet He would have been pro-life, not pro-choice.

In one of his parables he portrayed himself imposing the death penalty on someone.

When he met soldiers, he did not condemn them, but applauded their faith and service.

Let's please remember that the world was different 2000 years ago and applying today's "liberal" and "conservative" to Jesus isnt a good idea. That being said, He did have some liberal viewpoints and some conservative viewpoints. He was not one and not the other.

ETA: Let's not hijack this thread though

Yes, because at the time, gay marriage existed.

Modern homosexuality has never been addressed in the Bible.

He spoke to them in a language they understood. Do you recall him talking about interracial marriage? It didn't occur back then, but do you think he was against it?

I think he would have supported anything that would save more lives in the long run...

Oh, please inform on this one... I'm not sure what bible you've been reading.

Really? Show me.

How is this a conservative or liberal view?

He said sell all your jewelery and give it to the poor.

Turn the other cheek.

Love your enemy.

He hung out with prostitutes and tax collectors.

Help the least of your brothers.

When thou pray, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret…

All of the above is opposite of every conservative platform I've ever seen...

Try actually reading the Bible.

Because only liberals are against the war, and if you are against the war you condemn soldiers.

It's common sense.

What? I'm pretty darn sure Jesus would not support abortion. Proverbs 31:8- "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those who are perishing."

Oh, please inform on this one... I'm not sure what bible you've been reading.

Luke 19: 11-27-
"While they were listening to him speak, he proceeded to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God would appear there immediately. So he said, "A nobleman went off to a distant country to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return. He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins and told them, 'Engage in trade with these until I return.' His fellow citizens, however, despised him and sent a delegation after him to announce, 'We do not want this man to be our king.' But when he returned after obtaining the kingship, he had the servants called, to whom he had given the money, to learn what they had gained by trading. The first came forward and said, 'Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.' He replied, 'Well done, good servant! You have been faithful in this very small matter; take charge of ten cities.' Then the second came and reported, 'Your gold coin, sir, has earned five more.' And to this servant too he said, 'You, take charge of five cities.' Then the other servant came and said, 'Sir, here is your gold coin; I kept it stored away in a handkerchief, for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding person; you take up what you did not lay down and you harvest what you did not plant.' He said to him, 'With your own words I shall condemn you, you wicked servant. You knew I was a demanding person, taking up what I did not lay down and harvesting what I did not plant; why did you not put my money in a bank? Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.' And to those standing by he said, 'Take the gold coin from him and give it to the servant who has ten.' But they said to him, 'Sir, he has ten gold coins.' 'I tell you, to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king, bring them here and slay them before me.

Yes, well done. Doesn't mean he didn't have some more conservative viewpoints though.

Try actually reading the Bible.

I do, but I appreciate your concern.

But would he like children growing up unwanted, mothers dying on the table, or back alley abortions?

Wow, you really think that parable is about the DP? You think Jesus would support killing someone for not bringing the proper payment back? Not even the most vengeful conservative would buy that?

 That's all you have to say about that?

You know what we're off topic here. I challenge you to actually do some research and then start a seperate thread in a few days or weeks about if Jesus was a liberal or conservative...

all this effort explaining what a person who you don't even know was true was thinking or what he was. Wow, you can time travel and make things up kudos to you!

I just love how agressive the conservative ones are, and how they denegrate everything thats actually good in live, like looking after our planet, our bodies, our lives and so forth. Wow! i wanna be a part of that party!
