If I were living there I would be upset....no doubt about it.

However, given the number of FOREIGN insurgents.....I bet we would be further along in the rebuilding process.

Maybe you should checkout the statistics of the country and see what changes have occured

CIA World Factbook 2002 stats

CIA world factbook 2005 stats
Don;t use facts.....use the pictures.

The infant mortality rate has dropped, as too has the death rate and overall life expectancy has risen, but to be fair it has dropped for men but risen for women, electricity consumption has gone up from 25 billion kWh to 33.7 billion kWh, electricity production has risen from 27.3 billion kWh to 33.7 billion kWh, this is critical, far from being a demise in the Iraqi infrastructure it has improved, however because now electricity is availiable to more people and it is not all diverted to Baghdad it has to be shared equally putting more pressure on the grid which is being built up by those "mercenaries" and "war profiteers".

Please don't twist what i'm saying. you know very well what the point of my post was. my post does not say anything pro or against the war. my post is regarding the numerous posts that only refer to American casualities over in Iraq like nobody else matters. It's a slap in the face to the men and women of the many other countries (including Iraq itself) that are part of this coalition.

edited to add:
It does not do the USA any favours at a time when there is a lot of ill feeling towards the USA.

[Q]How many innocent Iraqi civilians have died and nobody has bothered to do a body count?

oh, but they're Iraqis so it doesn't matter. [sarcasm][/Q]

If I misunderstood what this meant exactly....I apologize.....but I did not read your post the way you intended. Apparently the nature of your post was lost on me. One part appeared to be about our attitudes towards Iraqi's....which I have yet to meet an American as uncaring as your two posts would leave me to believe.

and I restate what I said before:

[Q]My thanks to your relative for doing their part. Peace[/Q]

Do you have a quote to add?

Can we stop refering to just American casualities of this war please. My 20 year old nephew is being sent to Iraq this November for a six month period. He's going to be in Basra over Christmas and New Year. He's in the Highland Regiment of the British army.

The majority of the people in this forum and the majority of service men and women in Iraq are indeed American but realise that this forum is international and comments like that don't do the reputation of the USA any favours globally.

if you read everything, instead of two lines you would understand.

The reality is that American was much better off with Iraq under Saddam.

and the polls are starting to reflect that realization.

I've got another one--another favorite of mine.

"Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker."

Ewen, btw, I very much appreciate you point. Peeps tend to forget there were people from *86* countries in those towers that day.....

Ewen's point was more about Iraq war casualties rather than Sep 11.

There was no connection between the deposed Iraqi regime and the Sep 11 terrorists.
