Do you have a personal creed? I never could believe anyone else's creed because it did not relate to me. So I had to create my own:

I don't believe in any God anyone has introduced me to yet,
But I have a mustard seed's size faith that someday maybe I'll
meet him.
I don't believe in anyone's words;
But I believe their behavior.

I don't respect any groups, but I respect individuals.
I don't believe in rituals, but I honor personal worship.
I hold myself to the same standards I hold others,
But sometimes my standards are lax.

I may not always tell the whole truth, but I generally won't
lie.
I won't say the Pledge of Allegience, but that says nothing
about my respect for my country.
I don't need to prove myself to strangers or acquaintenances.
I'm accountable only to those I love, those I hurt and those who
sign my paycheck.

I don't trust anyone on first meeting.
I don't expect anyone to trust me either.
I judge, but sometimes I change my judgment
I'm open to being proved wrong.

I try to treat my friends like gods.
But I choose them wisely.
Every one of them has earned the adoration I give.
And I do not trust any belief system incapable of laughing at itself.

I didn't write these obviously but I believe in them..

To thine ownself be true

I am the author of the only dictionary that defines me

I can't make them sound good the way you can, but off the top of my head..

I believe in humility probably above all else

Even the worst experience with other people can and should teach you valuable lessons

Jealousy is a waste of time

Most people who are evil will eventually get their comeuppance and just reward

You should always be able to laugh at yourself, and always be wary of laughing at others

Live by your own standards not society's

Don't waste your time on people who aren't worth it

Learn to ignore, it can really come in handy

Never insist that you are right, always admit that you can be wrong and that you are wrong when you are

It's important to love yourself, in a humble way

Doing for others is good for your soul

Yankees suck

I like that

As for myself......

I find it very difficult to describe. I never thought of manifesting it into words, but it is a good idea. Maybe someday I will do that.

For now, though, I can only say a few words that are sticking with me presently

Centerline, and Structure.
Connections and transcendence, of course, but those are older.

I realize I am too young for...... to have a great creed to live by. There is not enough experience. But I believe in keeping an open mind.

And that integrity is a very valuable thing, from the inside out. You can't always be comepletely honest, simply because this is earth, and you have to protect yourself. But I definitely feel there is a more ideal way to go about living, life. Yet also, that everyone has their own path, and this is important too.

And, for myself.....
contradiction and paradox are something I must embrace, and not resist, otherwise I am not really being myself. I 'feel' that this is the same for other people, but perhaps not. I at least know that many of my contradictions and paradoxes come from the hesitancy of not knowing which choice is 'best'. But sometimes contradictions and paradoxes are inherent.

Lastly....... something about patterns, similarities. And the different levels of depth. And the 'duality' of energies. Perspectivism.

Ultimately, there is a fascination with human growth and progress.

In regards to dealing with other people, though... I am different to everyone. Depending on what energies you give me, my apperance is relative, and of course, it also depends on my internal state, too. Understanding, properly, to me..... is perhaps the most important thing there is.

I am not afraid to look at the reality of the situation, or the truth, all though those words are hardly objective, I know. I also believe, like BonosSaint sort of said.... that words are rather..... meaningless or inefficient. They are great at short communications, such as now as you read this.... but... it is very difficult to really communicate with them.

I believe everyone should be themselves
I believe everyone should seek improvement of some form (trying to be brief)
I believe everyone has their own way, and in all reality, it is completely separate from whatever I say, do, or think
I believe we are separate from out minds
I believe we are all connected
I believe every single person is a manifestation of what it means to be human.

I believe in myself.
I believe in myself to live my life the way I need/chose/have/want/must/attempt to.
And the more I go by.... the more I realize that, while certain things I must do in solitude... no one is really alone. That's just another illusion

I believe there is beauty in what can be seen, or heard, or other phenomena
I believe there is more to it than just those things, though.

I believe that every letter I have every written is subjective to my life, which is my own doing.
I believe we are connected through this, and in other ways, as I've said before.

I believe in a lot of things
I do not believe in many, many more.

I believe there is no way that I can really write an accurate description of my thoughts, ideas, ideals, philosphies, religions, or anything of great depth that I think about.

At least not yet. And I have tried...

But certainly, it is presently impossible for me to really.... describe my thoughts.

I always believe in trying, or, I believe in trying always.

Even if I don't think it will work out right the first time.

I believe in personal growth, which is assocaited with growth as a whole human race, etc, etc ,etc

I believe, that, when I start writing like this, I can be very longwinded...

Enjoyed your creed, Honor. I appreciate the questions you ask yourself. We've talked before on the inadequacy of purely verbal communication before and someday we'll have to pick up that discussion again. Our similar (I think) ideas on the subject may run into a stonewall though since I've found it is not that simple a thought to articulate beyond the basics.

Yeah, I know of that effect of certain personality types.....

I'm young, though........ so I still seem to try to make it work anyways, though I'm learning, slowly, otherwise. I'm resisting,I think.

eh... I'll just leave it at that for now.

I think I need to become more disciplined in my words. I've become terribly impatient for some reason......

I believe that nothing in life is worth getting an ulcer over....

I believe that good or bad - everything happens for a reason.

There is no medicine stronger than a hearty laugh and a heartfelt hug.

That's not bad, BonosSaint. I don't have personal creeds anymore, having overhauled them a couple of times in the past. A friend always says you don't find the truth, you make it up - thats more or less how I feel about the subject. :)

Love that statement on truth. Some wisdom in that.

:D

There are a few things I try to live by....

When in doubt, do without.
.......saves Mr GG alot of money

If someone tells me "Sorry", I must forgive them, no matter what.

Learn something everyday.

Remember to be thankful.

If you love someone, tell them.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

All beings tremble before violence. All fear death. All love life. See yourself in others. Then whom can you hurt? What harm can you do?
