*I'm only a pacifist to the extent pacifism is actually possible for a human being. Hypothetical situation: Let's suppose that on September 11, 2001 I was one of the passengers on Flight 93, the airplane that crashed in Pennsylvania when the heroic passengers fought back. Let's also suppose that I would have known then what I know now about the terrorists' intent and the
full scope of their actions that day, and let's further suppose that, while on that flight, I had a gun in my possession. I'm sure that, in the interest of self-preservation, I would have shot the terrorists on board that plane if need be. It's all about situational ethics. For me, I don't think it's possible to be a pacifist at all times, but I'd like to think that I strive to be pacifistic, particularly when it comes to war actions.
Oh, another area where I wouldn't have been a pacifist: Rwanda 1994. I think we (the U.S.) should have gone in and used force to stop the Hutus from carving the Tutsis into pieces.
**I wouldn't answer that I'm "for" abortion without qualifying my response. I like martha's ever so succinct answer to the question and I'd agree. I'm *for* having the
choice of abortion. So in truth, my answer to Dread's question is YES. That said, abortion is not an issue that has had any bearing on my life and I really don't feel qualified to debate it.

I find the abortion question to be perplexing, and I consider it an unsolvable, unanswerable issue or "problem." Furthermore, I think my opinion with respect to this issue is meaningless. But you asked.
