when my aunt was around 80
she broke her hip

I got her 24 hour care and kept her in her home until the last week of her life
she went from about 115 pounds to about
165 pounds
eating and t v was her only pastimes

i took her to her doctor
i wanted him to tell her to get her weight back down
the nurses were complaining about lifting her.

well, her Doctor asked her how her appetite was.
she said she really liked eating
he said it was fine not to worry about her weight.

she died about 3 years later

i don't think living on a restricted diet would have done anything for her
but taken away one of her few joys, eating

so long story not too short

I think these old folks in a rest home should have a pub..
it is not like they are going to miss work
or don't have a place to sleep it off

They were going on about this on the radio. I think it's just fine. Hell if you can't get drunk when you are old, when CAN you get drunk?

Having seen first hand how alcohol exacerbates the affects of Alzheimer’s, this may not be the wonderful solution we think it is.
