With all due respect to Rupert Murdoch, his influence is wholly pernicious.

Murdoch was a fairly strong supporter of Hillary Clinton earlier.

Having heard some interviews from him over time, I get the sense that he's mainly opportunistic, more than anything (which, in business, is a virtue). FOX News, if it reflects his personal political views at all, is merely incidental to the fact that he saw the network as a niche to be filled. That's something he's proven to be very good at.

I saw this a few days back

one of the things that separates McCain from typical GOP

is that he is more of a Teddy Roosevelt Republican, anti-trust.

I believe he has chaired committees that has got in the way of Murdoch's desire to further his media consolidation.

Likewise, Murdoch had been reaching out to Hillary, assuming she would be more likely to play ball than McCain.
