Looks relatively bad for Bush b/c its so close and with many pollsters declaring that a high turnout will lead to a Bush loss.

But I do have to say that if Bush wins this election decisively (i.e. no repeat of Election 2000 debacle) then Karl Rove is a F'n GENIUS.

How anyone could possibly vote for Bush is beyond my comprehension. Kerry has been accused of flip-flopping, but Bush has been far more egregious in that capacity, including his views on government involvement on gay marriage and his views on bin Laden. People claim Bush will support the troops - you mean the same troops he put to war? The same troops he's now leaving in a war, while other countries pull out? The same troops that are understaffed? People claim he will help the economy. The same economy that tanked while he was in office. The same economy that now faces the biggest deficit ever in U.S. history? And if he does help it - at what cost? The environment?! Bush has pulled the U.S. out of the Kyoto treaty and is unwilling to do anything about global warming, despite evidence that the arctic cap is severely melting.

Bin Laden is waving at us on film, people are out of work, the environment is going to hell and the world is mocking the U.S. Yet this is the man people support?

I can only hope that the draft is indeed reinstated. So all of you young people voting for Bush are promptly drafted to fight for the president you so love.

Isn't FYM about free expression of ones ideas and not just slamming those that you disagree with and willing that they be drafted.

They should institute a policy that only Bush supporters can be drafted.

Nope. It's about a bunch of left-wing people bashing anyone with a different opinion or idea.

There shall be no draft, post-Vietnam the US built a millitary that is highly effective as a volunteer force (The Iraq War is a brilliant example of this, they have liberated a country, oblitterated their opposing army and have run a relatively effective counterinsurgency campaign with minimal casualties for an operation of such magnitude over it's duration, lower casualty rates that WW1, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Gulf War - that is something a nation should be proud of it's soldiers for), putting people with neither the skills or the will to perform their duty in the field would upset that and diminish the advantages the US enjoys on the battlefield.

Yep... you keep believing that. And when Bush finally realizes the need to send troops to Afghanistan and Iran and N. Korea, he'll do what it takes - and that means a draft. He's failed as a president. He's failed as a diplomat. He's failed as a leader. But hey, if that's what the people of this country want, so be it.

I'll wave to y'all as you get shipped off to war! Have fun!
