We have no idea how many fraudulent votes are counted each election.

Yup.

I can only speak for Orange County, CA though. The last time we voted at a polling place, there were signs posted stating "if you were asked for identification at this location, please contact the Registrar of Voters."

I had to show my voter registration card, and sign the register too.

I was voter #476...my dad and stepmother, who voted 1st thing this morning, were #s 8 and 9.

Tells you something about turnout!

I'm just listening to the news and some polling places have had a 2-3 hour wait all day long, even when the polls first opened (at 6:30 am). I'm hoping all the Republicans can't wait around cause they have to go to work.

And I'm so proud that you're proud.

I went to the polls the first thing this morning (they opened at 7:00am here in Wisconsin) and there was already a line down the street and around the block. I had to wait in line for nearly an hour, but I was not going to be deterred. I got to work rather late, but my boss was really cool about it. She let other employees take extended lunches or let them leave early so they could vote.

Oh, and I voted for Kerry. And I'm hoping Senator Feingold gets re-elected and Gwen Moore gets the congressional seat.

Standing in line to vote.

I had to stand in line to vote for 45 minutes. I have voted in seven Presidential elections in my life starting with Carter/ Regan in 1980, and never had this experience before. Totally unbelieveable.

I think I speak for a great many FYMers, Republican and Democrat, when I say... "Lord, please let it not be close."

I voted immediately upon arrival, and I am in Texas. Lucky me....

Anyway, exit polls show that Kerry has good leads in the Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Florida and Ohio are still too close to call. Bush cannot afford to lose one of these states now that the Midwest seem to be for Kerry.

I had no line -- at 6:30 a.m. There were eight precincts in the gym I went to and there was a line at six of them

Congrats to all you first time voters! I know this sounds weird, but I had a great time voting. We have those lever machines and I clicked all the levers. so much fun.
