Melon - this was a great post. On almost every point I agree with you.

I especially agree with the above statment (Objective Moral Law must be discovered through logic and reason). However, I do not think that all religious texts should necessarily be thrown out of the discussion. I think that most of them have something to add.

I do agree that "tradition" should not be a real factor in the discovery process. My greatest hero, Mr. Christ, was very much against tradition as am I. (while some of my beliefs land in the same place as theirs - others do not).
