WB, NBC! Hope you had a nice vacation!

I have one issue to raise with the statement above. I totally agree that Robertson's aims have everything to do with power politics and all to do with the gospel. But we can't overlook that he makes his political claims in the name of our Lord. We absolutely MUST speak up against it.
Thank you! Yes, I had a nice time away with the family. Taking a break from all the daily routines was much needed.

After much thought and prayer about you post, I would suggest that the response to Robinson should be based on how the statement was taken. If it is political, we have the political responses.

However, if he is speaking in the name of the Lord, the Biblical response would be more in line with Matthew 18:15-17.

At this stage only a fool would think that Robertson is a better Christian than Chavez.

Who cares what Robertson OR Bono have to say? Trust me, I have a much higher opinion of Bono ( ) but I don't see why either of their opinions are particularly newsworthy at this point. They both have small audiences that take their word as gospel, but most people couldn't care less either way what they think on any one issue.

wait, I just called Bono irrelevant and compared him to Pat Robertson on a U2 site

Update

.. I have said this in another article about gas prices, but can´t find it right now, so I´m gonna post that here -

Plus: I can´t find any article in english now, but according to our national news, Chavez has accepted the excuse by Robertson in a speech on Venezuelan TV yesterday; politically he will have to go after that, but personally, being a good Christian, he wants to accept Robertson´s "sorry".

Back to the gasoline:

CARACAS, Venezuela, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Sunday his government would send one million barrels of gasoline to supply U.S. regions battered by Hurricane Katrina and the flooding disaster.

The populist Venezuelan leader, a vocal critic of Washington's foreign policies, has already offered to send relief aid to the area and accuses U.S. President George W. Bush of abandoning hurricane victims.

"We have to decided to send one million barrels of gasoline over there," Chavez said during his regular Sunday television broadcast program.

It was unclear whether the U.S. government would accept Chavez's gasoline offer.

Venezuela, the world's No. 5 oil exporter, is a key energy supplier to the United States. But diplomatic relations between Caracas and Washington have chilled since Chavez came to office in 1998 promising social reforms.

U.S. officials say the former soldier is fomenting unrest in South America and criticize his close ties to Cuba's Fidel Castro. But Chavez says Washington wants to kill him to end his self-proclaimed socialist revolution, a charge U.S. officials dismiss as rhetoric.

Citgo, the U.S.-based unit of Venezuela state oil company PDVSA, has said it would donate $1 million in relief aid to the victims of Katrina and Chavez has promised supplies.

Citgo's president said on Sunday the company was processing 398,000 barrels per day (bpd) at its Louisiana Lake Charles refinery in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Citgo had requested oil from the U.S. emergency stockpile for its Lake Charles plant -- with a crude distillation capacity of 425,000 bpd -- after Katrina battered U.S. offshore oil and gas production.

All of Citgo's plants were running with a combined capacity of 840,000 bpd, Citgo President Felix Rodriguez said.

"We are at Citgo refining capacity limit, none of the refineries are halted, everything is running," Rodriguez told Chavez by telephone from the United States.

Citgo plants have capacity of about 865,000 bpd and process mainly Venezuelan crude.

PDVSA's 190,000 bpd Chalmette refinery joint venture with U.S. Exxon Mobil was shut by Katrina.

Robertson is, of course, an utterly deplorable nutsack. The sooner the cancer hits him, the better off the world will be. Rot, fucker. Frankly, I'm tired of waiting. I hope someone on his staff poisons him. Hell, maybe I'll apply for a job as a waiter at the 700 Club.

Bono, on the other hand, is a great man with a big picture in his mind. A noble, loving picture. He'll do almost anything, including dealing with known shitbags, to bring that picture into focus. I admire the guy for it.

I don't know how the B-man does it. I wouldn't piss on Robertson if he was in flames on the side of the road, let alone talk to the motherfucker.

Yes. Along with more than 95% of the population of the country he runs.

I know. Can you believe this Robertson character thought someone should die because of the view he holds? Shameful.

Congratulations! You're talking in the same vein as Robertson.

The Bush administration has rejected the help offered by Venezuelan President Chavez.

Seems that the U.S. President is not interested in cheap gasoline. How someone can reject help in such a major disaster, is beyond my imagination. He´s too stubborn and this costs American citizens´ lives.

The only possible interpetation is that he wants that poor Americans stay poor.

Unbelievable - the sheer hatred in here.

Now, really; will people please calm down. I see people wishing cancer on others, blatant defamation amongst members and clearly a lack of courtesy in many posts.

The way things are going, we're not going to have any kind of productive debate. I would kindly ask members to keep a cool head, please.

Ant.

I agree, Anthony. Robertson is a jerk but I don't hope he gets cancer or anything. I think Bush is stupid to turn down the oil from Venezuela, but what's new?
